Extending Tourist Visa At Bangkok Immigration. When To Do It?

Featured Replies

I am admitted until Saturday 2nd March on the final entry of my triple-entry tourist visa. I want to extend by 30 days at Bangkok immigration.

1. What are the earliest and latest dates I can go to immigration to make the extension?

2. Any particular time of day recommended for speed of processing?

3. Exactly what paperwork is needed?

Thanks!

Extend about half of February, you can do it 30 days early till the very last day of your permisison to stay.

Required docuents:

passport + copy

arrival card + copy

passphoto

a form you need to fill in

1,900 baht

1 30 days early But most people do about one week early. The latest is your permit to stay date unless it falls on a weekend which yours does. You loose no time by going early.

2. As early as possible (opens at 8:30)

3. TM7 application form with attached photo. Copies of passport photo page, visa, entry/permit to stay stamps and TM6 departure card.

as above

But decide if you want to go to HCM (as per your other post) or Bangkok.

Both maybe. It seems he is doing a bit of planning.

Might have been easier to post as one post with all the questions, but then again a read of the pinned topic might have also helped him.

His other post states that he is going to extend at Bangkok before going to HCM.

True my eyes are not that good anymore, but the OP could just do one trip and get a Double entry outside of Thailand thus giving him the time until he departs to return to Blighty

Thanks for the replies.

They are separate issues so better as 2 threads. Questions tend to get lost and unanswered if there are too many in one thread, or in a thread with an unrelated title.

I couldn't find the answers there. Maybe I didn't look in the right place.

I considered that, but that will entail an extra trip out of Thailand, that I'd prefer not to make. Also at that stage I wouldn't have the 2nd travel ticket out of Thailand, that I understand might be asked for. Also I'm trying to hook up with friends in Ho Chi Minh at the end of March if possible.

Further....

It is the office at Chaeng Watthana that I need to go to, right? Nohting closer to Sukhumvit?

Also, should I download TM7, fill it in and take it with me, or just fill in the ones they have there?

Yes Chiang Watanna and yes download and print front/back of single A4 page and have it ready with your copies and go directly to queue numbers inside main processing area (beyond the foyer where information/forms/desks are available).

CW is your only choice for the extension.

I would download the TM7 and fill it out.

You would not need to show tickets out at Vientiane or Savannakhet.

I don't know about Bangkok, but at immigration in Jomtien they now also require some proof of where you stay, i had to go back to get a copy of my last rental bill this tuesday.
