hellodolly
I am in no way a conservative person, and I am looking at this whole thing from a psychological aspect. I find it surprising that so many people are able to enjoy 'paid-sex', with the full knowledge that the other person (or personS...hehe) is doing it for money only. Would it help if they said you were a hansum man and they loved you? I'd never do it if I thought they were doing it just for the money. It's about being hansum, feeling loved. welcoming her into your world, sharing a chocolate shake, saying sweet nothings in each others ears, her to spend her life with you, you promising to take her to your country..........then rip of her tuttie frutties and get down to business. I thought there for a while you were writing for a Thai soap
Beetlejuice
This case is just the tip of the iceberg. This is going on all over Thailand and the practice of female students offering sexual services to pay their tuition fees, cost of living expenses and for funds to purchase luxury items has been going on for years. Recently this was discovered happening in the UK where tuition fees have become very expensive and have no doubts is also happening Internationally. Many of the young girls working for escort agencies and so-called VIP clubs are full time students, plus what they call the side liner girls and so on. They are mostly reserved for the rich Thai, Chinese, Japanese and other South East Asian businessmen and well to do clientele. If the customers are alleging that they obtained sexual services from these girls for 1000 baht, than they were getting a bargain, as I have been well informed from those in the know that the going rates for the services of highly desirable student girls can amount to thousands, so the 1000 baht statement I do not believe. There is big money involved here for all concerned and probably the people from the agencies and mafia type gangs that are managing these girls are trying to cover up the true amounts of money that is being made here. rsokolowski
http://www.therecord.com/news/local/article/875870--local-university-students-find-sugar-daddies-to-help-pay-bills It is a practice that is not unique to Nan (or Thailand). I think the other word for this practice starts with a P, that being said it is between consenting adults. If the girls want to put out for considerations (cash, rent, tuition, books) and the men want to pay, I do not see the issue. Not a whole lot different than "traditional" relationships, maybe just a little more truthful than some relationships (IMO).
EyesWideOpen
This story is priceless !!!! Their customers include government officials, politicians and police officers. The face that many people want to put on prostitution in Thailand is the old fat farang in Pattaya waddling down the street with a gogo girl. The reality is that 90% of sex for sale in Thailand is for Thai men ...... But I say good for the college girls. If they want to boink a few policemen to buy an iphone , no problem. Hmmm let's see the math. If she is getting only 500 baht per boink, then it will cost her 48 boinks to buy an Iphone 5 to impress her classmates. Wait a minute..... " arrested separately on prostitution charges". So prostitution is illegal now ?? There is another thread on TV where the consensus after a lot of Thai laws being pasted into the thread seemed to be it was either legal or quasi legal.......Aha here it is.... http://www.thaivisa....mtien-beer-bar/ Maybe winked at in Pattaya with umpteen million baht at stake, and rigorously enforced in Nan? Amazing Thailand indeed. In this case it is illegal because they do it as a team and share profits (that's organized prostitution). Ms. Fa could not have been charged if she had acted alone. The other one is underage, and probably had a mama san also. So both caes are illegal. I don't know why people who don't bother to read and/or understand the Law dare to push the "like" button on such simplistic posts. Get a grip and read the law yourself so you do not appear " simplistic". Here is the Thai law. “Section 282 Whoever, for sexual gratification of another person, procures, lures, or traffics a man or woman for an indecent sexual purpose, even with his or her consent, shall be punished with imprisonment of one to ten years, and a fine of two thousand to twenty thousand Baht." So in the original article which I will assume you read, the charge is prostitution, NOT TRAFFICKING !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Maybe people need to pass a reading comprehension test before being allowed to post here..... Edited January 27, 2013 by EyesWideOpen

Yes, this is procuring - it does not apply to the person of the prostitute him/herself if he/she is working alone. There is no "prostitution" charge. penwithchris
My Thai wife is quite explicit about her experiences as a pre-teen student when teachers had sex with and even sired children with pre-teen girls in her school. Nobody seemed to give a dam_n. Parents often felt quite honoured that their child's teacher should be interested in their daughters. Thais don't generally share foreigners Victorian attitude to sex . Sex is to be exploited for all it's worth. Edited January 28, 2013 by metisdead : Formatting
ccarbaugh
Forget it guys! By the time they see through the BS of their lifelong conditioning of: "If you go with a farang, then you're a kohn mai dee - THAI ONLY!!!" Then, they're already in their mid-thirties or more, got 3 or 4 kids from different (Thai) fathers that their parents are taking care of and they are hardened Goldiggers. That's what we, as farangs, are afforded (mostly) here in the Land of Smiles! Edited January 27, 2013 by ccarbaugh

It is a bit unseemly for the police to have sex with her one week, and then arrest her for prostitution the following week. Sometimes I wonder if there is a Thai word for hypocrisy.... Anyway these girls should take a page out of Chuwit's playbook. Taken hidden video of the officials having sex with the girls. Then later on when the officials try to throw them under the bus, just hint about the video you have. Instantly the problem goes away...
