‘ Many Foreigners Working Illegally’, Say Thai Officials

I honestly wish tourism would completely stop in Thailand and all of these dirt bags and complaining Thais would end up sleeping in their tuk-tuks and shacks and have to scrounge for food. Not that it would be any different than how they live now, but at least they wouldn't have beer money. And I bet not one of those sorry a-holes can speak a lick of Russian or have lost a single baht due to Russian business.

PoodMaiDai could never understand why he failed the interview for the position of Governor of the Tourist Authority of Thailand. biggrin.png

As the economy gets worse and unemployment increases, sadly, there will be backlash against foreigners working here (just like in most other countries).

But of course, having said that, let me say that I don't approve of illegal companies/workers. However, protesting against legal companies and workers (unless they do something bad) is NOT nice at all.

Likewise Thai people, Russians master foreign languages badly. Therefore, being oversees they prefer to deal with Russian tour companies, Russian tour agents, and Russian speaking hotel personnel. Notoriously known as crazy money spenders they are a wishful target for locals. Alas, only a few of Thais can speak Russian and know how to communicate with sometimes explosive Russians without a stress. As the result, money from Russian tourists are flowing to pockets of Russians in Thailand. And the only hope is to ban Russians from the tourist business in Thailand. Amassing Thailand. Would they crack down on other successful businessmen-foreigners in Thailand too?

They don't care if they are legal or not.

That sums it all up.

What has tourism and foreigners who are genuinely holidaying in Thailand have to do with foreigners working legally or illegally in Thailand?

Why are you so bitter and twisted about the situation? Are you one of those who are contravening the laws?

The foreigners staying in Thailand and hustling to remain here have been tumbled and Thai bashing will not help their situation. Hopefully their days are numbered in the Kingdom.

Not forgetting the many Russian hookers working openly in the bars, brothels and escort agencies in Phuket and Pattaya.

This is happening all across Thailand, nationwide.

Farangs, illegally working, illegally owning property, illegally owning businesses, illegal real estate and land speculating, illegally running and owning farms, illegal agricultural producing and general illegal wheeling and dealing.

This is trend continues, than the Thais tolerance levels towards the forever tourists and the farangs residing here will ware down to wafer thin.

Clamp down on these people, stop they’re activities and throw the lot out of the country, they are not needed or wanted here.

Ye-h. Send back all Thais who are working abroad legally and illegally. "they are not needed or wanted" in there. And send home all Thai girls who got married farangs and went to their husband country to reside over there.

I do agree with, Send back all Thais who are working abroad illegally, that works both ways, but as for expelling all Thai women who are living legally abroad and married to farangs, can`t see your logic in that statement. Perhaps you could explain why? Or is this just another blowing hot air in the wind comment?

Thanks, I`ll add that group to the list and will also add, those running online businesses without informing Immigration and no work permits.

So it appears that the protesters are not making a who har for nothing.

They wouldn't return my calls after the interview. Can't figure it out.

But yes, I'd love to see these idiots who always blame foreigners for their own failures to be served a cold dish of karma.

Because this stems from their total hatred for foreigners. How are Russians hurting taxi drivers? Why should foreigners be punished or even inspected for running a good business, when many of the locals have no idea how to run a business if it doesn't involve scamming people? They only care about tourist money, not the tourist. If you have not noticed, they go out of their way to scam, abuse, rob, cheat, steal, and sometimes murder and rape them. So like I said, I wish everyone would just go somewhere else where they are appreciated and treated as human beings.

I'm not bitter or twisted, I am just tired of these children never once taking responsibility for their own actions, which has ultimately caused this situation. It has nothing to do with Russians or foreigners, working legally or not. It is 100% to do with them ruining their own business. And what comes next if they don't get their way? They will probably start assaulting the local businessmen or killing them off. Probably get away with it most of the time too.

And why do you wish to see foreigners kicked out of Thailand? You must be well integrated and quite the Thai apologist.

I lived in Phuket from 2002 until early 2012. I built or established no less than 5 small hotel businesses, with a total investment of about 25 million baht. In all my time living in Phuket with my Thai wife and my kids I was never able to obtain a work permit from the Phuket Labour Office to work as a manager of my own hotels! Their reason for each refusal was that a Thai Limited Partnership company was not allowed to employee foreigners, (which is complete rubbish).

Despite paying expensive lawyers to resolve this situation, the Labour Office never changed their position.

I now work 100% legally in Myanmar and look to invest further in this country.

Simon

Good for you Simon.

The same apply's in Cambodia, foreigners can own and run a business 100% with out all of the BULLSHIT, Thailand carries on with,

I must admit I loath this Thai protectionism - same in owning property. The day they let go of the protectionism and censorship and have real FREEDOM then this country takes a giant step towards what it claims to be...
