Need An Artist--Any Recommendations?

I need an artist to make a painting/drawing of people in uniform from the 1805 time period. I have some examples, but the artist needs to be able to produce realistic figures in action.

The art will then be used in a book cover.

I have queried several US artists/art companies, but most are merely graphic artists who use stock images for their creations (and charge a pretty penny for doing so.) I need someone who can create art.

I am sure there must be artists here in Thailand (Bangkok area would be preferable, but not necessary) who have the skill and who only charge a reasonable price for their work.

but there is a university and many students do a great job with painting on order.

I had one great contact but can't find it anymore.

Maybe someone Thai knows that university and there is some promotion around that area?

Most touristy places have artists who will paint to order from say a photograph. If you find one I suggest you ask a Thai friend to make the arrangements while you're out of sight to prevent too many 000's appearing on the bill.

This is the method I used in the U.K.

There must be an art college in BKK. You could even get to see some of their work and that might help you decide who to use.

You're right, such places exist in Thailand.
