I'm mostly just interested i'm not nessersarly going to do it but have always wondered about this, I have a oz passport and british passport so if I was for example I was going to do a visa run and walk out of Thailand say in Aran/Poi Pet on a Thai visa in my Australian passport. and had previously already got a cambodian visa in my british passport to enter cambodia would cambodia ask where my exit thailand stamps are when I presented the british passport and would I be able to renter thailand the same day returning on my british passport?

Switching passports can only be done at airborders, as immigration of both countries can check for your exit stamps from the country you were leaving.

I have done exactly what you would like to do at the land borders.

They just wanted to see my exit stamp in Oz passport and entered/stamped my UK passport, which had the visa, into Cambodia.

As far as I understand, the choice is yours which passport you use to enter a country. You obviously have to depart on the same passport.

Yep..this is 100%. I work with 2 passports and have swapped over many times and have only been asked a couple of times where the exit stamp from previous country was and only ever once had to dig the other passport out. Not so sure about the dual nationality all the same as I've never had to contend with that one, but dont imagine it would be any different.
