I have noticed a significantly higher police presence in Patong over the last few days, with 2 very heavy police chechpoints on Nani Road close to the French/Arab area - almost at the end. Anyone else noticed or have any ideas whats going on?

Neither have I. Just seen the guys he is talking about. Full of them. French speaking guys named Ali.

A lot of French (in particular) frequent the area as described and back to near 50 Pee - some are short-term renting a house near me (soi off Nanai), and boy do they like to make noise... Won't miss them...

They seem to congregate around this area, wearing very tight t shirts & sunglasses in the dark - with a fetching man bag. Still doesnt explain the rozzers
