February 5, 201313 yr Will be going by bus from mo chit to mukdahan. Is there different companies that have bus services or just 1? Any recommendations? Thanks
February 5, 201313 yr Why not fly, takes almost no time, and don't have to sit on a bus, I have to use a bus once in while but I hate it.
February 5, 201313 yr Nok Air do a Flight + Bus service to the boarder.. Back to question bus from mo chit to mukdahan., yes there are a number of different Bus Companies + would appear different prices for the same service.. Myself went December and used Company called 999, paid 800 baht 1st class, 2 other Guys I spoke to also used 1st class both were less .. 1 was 698 baht the other 768 baht all 3 Buses arrived at the Mukahan Bus Station within 10 mins of each other.. 1st Class = 3 wide arm chairs across, and recline 170 degrees
February 6, 201313 yr I just went by train. I like trains. Sleeper is 480 baht. arrive in Ubon about 08:30, then bus/minivan takes about 2-3 hours. Savan vegas will do a pickup from mukdahan busstation and take care of visa if you want. They have a visarun package that is a great deal. Great breakfast, good lunch and dinner (and next day breakfast included).
February 6, 201313 yr In early Jan this year I took the VIP bus out of MoChit to Mukdahan - overnight You can book it online on thaiticketmajor http://www.thaiticketmajor.com/bus/index.php?la=en Left on time ... arrived on time Used savanvegas one night visa package So easy Just do not leave your baggage in the van when you are going thru the border crossings
February 7, 201313 yr Author Alright missed my last night bus to muk, Lomprayah was late getting into BKK as usual. February 7, 201313 yr I think that means that you will be arriving tomorrow (Friday) which means you will have to wait until Monday afternoon to pick up your passport at the consulate.
February 7, 201313 yr Author Correct! Damnit! My visa expires on 10th. I planned to go yesterday. But i got late into bangkok. Yes I could fly, but i wanna try the bus route, and im on a budget. Also, any reccomendations on places to stay in savannakhet, Id prefer a decent place next to the river, not so cheap but also not so expensive...
February 7, 201313 yr I think that means that you will be arriving tomorrow (Friday) which means you will have to wait until Monday afternoon to pick up your passport at the consulate. Problem with many Posts, did he need a Visa ? or a boarder run to activate his Visa? Visa Run could mean anything... If Visa then No he will not be back on that Bus, No idea if Chinese New Year will affect the Thai Embassy, re info on Savannakhet holidays pages say many Businesses closed for 3 days.
February 7, 201313 yr Author Im going to apply for a tourist visa tomorrow. I know the 10th is a holiday. Hoping consulate will be open on monday.. Tuesday is ok too.
February 7, 201313 yr Author I checked the thai consualte website. Did not mention anything about extra closure due to sunday new years. On the bus now, departed at 8:05 pm
February 7, 201313 yr Looks like an interesting package. http://www.savanvegas.com/visarun/ Are they okay doing one year multi-entry Non-O visas?
February 7, 201313 yr I went to savanvegas. I applied for the visa in person but they offer a service to do it for you. I only saw foreigners that were happy with the service, i spoke to a few who did the marriage and a few who did the retirement multiple entries. Everyone got for what they came for.
