lazygourmet
Does anyone know if the airport has a luggage plastic-wrap service? Many thanks...
Khonwan
I used it there 2 years ago – I guess it’s probably still there.

aliep
IMHO in these times of scarcity of natural resources, it is completely socially unnacceptable to waste our natural resources wrapping luggage in petrochemical products. This kind of activity should be banned.

JeffreyWitty
Question: What is the point of wrapping luggage? What does it accomplish?
Khonwan
I had just bought a set of new suitcases; the wrapping service protected them from scuff marks but more importantly for me, put my mind at rest that they were not going to burst open since they were packed so tightly that they were difficult to close. I used it again on the return journey (from Glasgow) and would do so again in the future.
Hedghog
Its main use is to prevent people tampering with the luggage. A little bit of added security. Mostly used with rucksacks.

Actually that was to protect a set of three vintage -and empty!- Globe Trotter suitcases. Problem has been solved by packing them all in a cheap huge suitcase bought at a local department store sale...
