Conflicting Entry Stamps

Featured Replies

We are a family of five, traveling in Thailand for the month of February till March 3. We're US citizens, living in China, and we've been coming to thailand in the winter for a few years now. Coming in to the airport in BKK, we got 30 day entry stamps, valid till March 3. We then started out our trip by visiting a Cambodian friend in Siem Reap, and coming back across the border from Cambodia back into Thailand (on foot from Poipet), we got 15 day entry stamps, valid till February 20. Argh!

I'm guessing that this means our previous entry stamps are now invalid, and we have to make another visa run before we leave the country in early March? Anyone else have any experience with this?

Thanks!

Leaving the country cancels your permission to stay unless you have bought a re-entry permit (not sure if you can get on on a visa exemption).

Land borders now give 15 days on entry so you have correct stamps.

"I don't want to know why you can't. I want to know how you can!"

Yep.

30 days by air and 15 days by land.

Actually has been this rule for several years now. A crossing to any country by land and return will get another 15 days and be enough to cover the remaining period.

Only the members of your family 15 or over will be charged overstay.

Only you and your wife need to make a border run to get another 15 days if you wish to do it that way.

I ihave a feeling of deja-vu in this thread. sleep.png
