What Visa Should I Get? My Double Entry Tourist Visa Is Almost Done!

Featured Replies

So my double entry tourist visa is almost done, can i just go to Laos and get another one? (i am Norwegian)

If not can i get the student thai school visa? Ive already studied thai for a year and have now stayed in Thailand for almost 2 years.

WHen i first came i used the 30 day on arrival visa, than i got 15 months student visa, than i got double entry tourist visa for another 6 months.

What visa should i aim for next?

It depends on the purpose of your trip to Thailand with the new visa. If the purpose is tourism, you apply for a tourist visa; if the purpose is to study Thai, you apply for a non-Ed visa.

The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place

the purpose is to stay here as long as possible... If i can get another double entry tourist visa il get that but is that possible?

I remember a few years ago i could only have tourist visas for 6 months before u had to leave thailand for 6 months or something.

Never any such rule with visas - believe you are thinking of visa exempt entry. But Consulates can refuse visa issue at any time if they feel it is being abused (especially if they suspect person is working on such an entry). But even then another Consulate might issue.

The 180 Day rule has been stopped a long time ago.

It's quite easy, you only really qualify for a Long Stay visa if

a ) are you older then 50 years ?

b ) are you married to a Thai National ?

c ) Do you work here and do you qualify to get a work permit ?

and some other reasons

If you answer No to these questions, then you now only have 2 options.

- Student Visa (Need to enroll in a official School to qualify)

- Tourist Visa (however this is not a solution for the really long term)
