Looking For A Pug.

Featured Replies

I'm looking to adopt/find/purchase/etc.. a Pug puppy. I have heard about Pug farms in Rachatibury (sp?) but I have no real interest in a champion blood line. I just want a good pet.

Looking for pet shops, etc...

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Pugs are quite popular in Thailand, the wife of a friend is a home breeder, although personally I would buy from them. The best thing to do is visit a local breeder so you know the situation that the pup comes from and can gauge the temperament of at least one of the parents, and hopefully they are not related.

Better to wait for the right pup from a good litter than "I want it now" and then deal with the problems of an in-bred or puppy-farmed animal.

Even if you do not care for the training techniques of Cesar Millan it's worth reading his chapters on choosing a pup from a litter, I think it was in this book: How to Raise the Perfect Dog.

As for finding a breeder, there are a few magazines to look at but word of mouth via a local vet notice board or grooming shop are good ways to establish yourself into the local dog network. Maybe try a local pet-shop.
