robsamui Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 Now in BKK - you're nabbed if you're . . . driving on the wrong side of the road driving on the pavement double parking cutting cars up when overtaking Can we have some of this over here, please? (And the rest!) http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/618802-crackdown-on-traffic-offenders/ R
wayned Posted February 13, 2013 Posted February 13, 2013 They've always been nabbed for it if the BIB wanted some "tea money", now they will have to actually write a ticket, less tea money, more work!
BigC Posted February 13, 2013 Posted February 13, 2013 reason they pull peoplel constantly in Bangkok is for tea money. i have had to pay loads of bribes up there for things which i hadn;t even done. such as speeding. i drove on the limit on the toll way i told them this. they told me i was 4 kms per hour over. another time they told me i was speeding and showed me a photo of someone elses car and told me if i wanted to see my own photo then i had to go to the police station and wait for the film to pbe processed and some how this photo would show that i was speeding or i could give them 500 baht to go everytime i went out in bangkok i had to have 500 baht behinde my driving lisence

That's extortion. I never pay more than 200. 2
Popular Post Tropicalevo Posted February 13, 2013 Popular Post Posted February 13, 2013 500? That's extortion. I never pay more than 200. Me neither. I once got stopped driving from Hua Hin to BKK. The policeman asked for 400 baht. We managed to scrape the money together without opening our wallets and the BIB burst out laughing. "No!" he said "Only 200 baht. You should haggle." 3

Collect tea money and you keep the 200 baht - perhaps sharing it with your 'back-up'. No brainer really
Samuimike1 Posted February 14, 2013 Posted February 14, 2013 The Ringroad is 52 KM and all driver drive like hell. The new Road parts from Natho to Lamai is already a FI race track
maccaroni man Posted February 14, 2013 Posted February 14, 2013 on samui the BIB drive on the wrong side, drive on the pavement, drive on the side walk, and drive under the influence, when the fish stinks it comes from the head down. 1

samuijimmy Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 In case anyone is wondering, why traffic has slowed down in Maenam, they have got the traffic lights going again ..... as of today.... been nearly a year, I think without them...
BigC Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 so they nab you if your driving on the pavement. this means that people still do it. I know i have nearly been run over by a motor bike taxi on the pavenement in sukumvit also dont U turns in places where i have been nabbed the previous week infront of a police man who just stars straight ahead. have even seen motor bike taxi driver directing traffic whilst the poiceman is sitting down eating and drinking.\

They might fix the light's at the immigration crossroads it's been over a year since the road workers ripped up the cable's. 1
