I am taking a TEFL course in April and hope to find work in Thailand afterwards. I applied for a multiple entry Non-Imm Visa from NY consulate in US. They issued me a Non-Imm visa, category "ED", # of entry "M", with a remark "extension of stay not permitted."

Does this mean I have 5 entries of 90 days? Or am I missing something here? Also, does that remark apply to the first 90 days, or after the whole lot of multiple entries are used up?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks in advance!!

ED = Education

M = Multi (any number)

Extension of stay not permitted = this is not a tourist type visa where there is a normal 30 day extension available. If you decide to become a full time student it could be extended by immigration.

So you can come and go as often as you like during the period your visa is valid and obtain 90 day entry stamps.

Thank you very much for the reply. Much appreciated!!

My only other concern is will immigration give me any trouble with the Visa after the course is finished (30 day course, with a multiple entry 90 day visa)... is that ever a problem? Since it's an Education visa, am I required to be "educated" for the entire period? Thanks again! And I apologize if this is a silly question...

I would think that you would be studying Thai culture while not in class. Life does not come with full guarantee but I don't believe you will have any problems. The official criteria is

- to study, to come on a work study tour or observation tour , to participate in projects or seminars , to attend a conference or training course , to study as a foreign Buddhist monk (Category "ED")

I can't thank you enough for the advice! Cheers!
