Early Morning "public" Transport To The Airport

Featured Replies

Without a personal vehicle, how does one get to the airport for a 6:30 a.m. flight? I've heard that a yellow/meter taxi is dependable, but I don't have any more information.

Does anybody have a phone number for that service--or an alternative suggestion?

In other words, at that hour (around 5:30 a.m.) I don't want to have to depend on the availability of a tuk-tuk or a red car...

Chiang Mai Taxi Phone number is all the way at the bottom. So far they are reliable (no problems yet...)

Almost forgot. Expect to pay an additional fee for the early morning pickup. It will be around 300B total.

Many hotels and guest houses provide free transport to and from the airport.

Best is to go and talk to a couple tukkie drivers the day/week before and find out who works early morning, explaining what you need and ask if they start early or late. If they're late-shifters, they're likely to have a buddy who can do it. Most I've paid a tuk-tuk drive is maybe 120 B for either my 6 am or midnight flights.

Speaking a fair amount of Thai eases this type of negotiation, of course.

oops, sorry, didn't check on the location!

Only the 120 baht with a Tuk Tuk made me.

You are so lucky up there!
