Historical Exchange Rates For The Baht?

Featured Replies

Anyone know where I can find historical date for the baht vs the USD and the GBP going back to the 1997 crash?

Or how much baht you could get for $1 or £1 back in the day?

Thanks.1

I don't know where to find the data, but on my first visit to Thailand in 1998 I got 42 baht to the Canadian dollar. It was a little better than the Philappines where I got 44 pesa to the dollar. The Philippines hasn't changed much, but Thailand has done much better and is now about 29 to 30 baht to the Canadian dollar. Of course, 15 years ago the Canadian dollar was only worth about 65 cents to an American dollar, but for the last few years we have been very close to the same.

no clue about the pound but the buck was mid 40s from 99-01 then low 40s from 02-05. Soros broke the back of the baht like he did to the brit pound in 1993. he's a jolly nice fellow

You can view the last 10 years for Baht vs. GBP here - or against the US Dollar here...

I have seen 25 to USD and 38 to GBP, been here since 1990.

Currency conversion on http://www.oanda.com/currency/converter/ gives you the chance to select dates back to January 1990

This site covers data back to 1971.
