I have heard of caddie problems at GV in the past. This is a direct quote, from our news email, on our regular golf group who has been playing there weekly for over a year.

"And, as always, there was a shortage of caddies. The caddies are becoming quite "bold" in stating up front that they will caddie for you for 300 Bht. This is entirely up to each player to accept this "boldness" or the other option is to tell them "no" you will not agree to pay them 300 Bht but rather tip them accordingly. If they do not want to caddie for you then you should ask the starter to provide another caddie, which is the responsibility of the course to provide, since you already paid a caddie fee. I've heard of some caddies asking upwards of 500 Bht. There was also an instance where a tip was given to a caddie and the caddie demanded 50 Bht more. Each player should decide how these situations should be handled."

Thanks David for re-posting in a sensible font and formatting for readability (I've fixed the font in the OP).

I stopped playing Green Valley years ago for this very reason. Plenty other courses to choose from. Don't have your day spoilt by greedy caddies, vote with your feet and play elsewhere.

I've been playing night golf for the past few weeks at Green Valley and have yet to come across such practices (I tip the caddie between 150 to 200 Baht for 9 holes). I did have to wait quite a while for a caddie last Friday as the course was very busy, but when I went today (at about 4.30pm) I managed to go straight out for nine holes with no-one in front of or behind me. The caddie was quite happy for me to play two balls as well!
