Armed ... paw enforcer

Michael Fresco

newsjsBANGKOK: -- COPS in Thailand have added some Magnum Force to their squad by issuing a LABRADOR with a gun.

The paw enforcer is carrying an automatic in a shoulder holster marked “Police K-9”.

While some may think it’s a barking mad idea, it would probably make Harry Callahan’s day.

He could always growl: “I know what you’re thinking... was it five bullets or SIT?”

Jaysus ............. talk about "the wrong stuff"

Well, I pawed (sic) over the Sun article but could not find any information as to where this dog is stationed.

I'm guessing that the K-9 Officer will be heading up a pack to rid the local moo-baans of the dog gangs which are terrorising walking foreigners (as has been reported on Thaivisa).

I guess they both sat IQ and psychological tests. wink.png

Guaranteed to take a bite out of crime biggrin.png

On a more serious note, this cannot end well in practice.

What possible use is this?

If i was being attacked by the dog,

I'd let the dog bite my arm, the I'd grab the gun.

I'll need stiches from the dog bite, but i now have a 9mm.

as a previous poster said, I dont know if i should laugh, cry, or whatever

Police dog gets in fight with Soi dog. Gun goes off killing police dog. Soi dog charged with murder

dog guide blind police man

This is a good follow up story on the one yesterday about raising the I Q of Thais.

Yep, great news.

Dog chases unarmed criminal, catches him securely by the wrist.

Criminal removes gun with free arm, kills dog and escapes!

Good idea, Batman!

This will be a detection dog and not a dog for apprehending criminals, labs are not used for biting.

It is probably just a joke ,dog with a gun for the photo.

There's no fooling you is there!

How long before we read of the gun-toting police dog going on some wild shooting spree after a Sangsom-fueled drinking binge with his buddies??

.

Having a dog packing heat should make it more convincing when a bribe...eer gift is demanded.

Yeah, and the dog beat the human.

At least they didn't give him something dangerous, like a whistle. whistling.gif

I never realised that ear-medicine had such serious side-effects ! wink.pnglaugh.png

I wonder if they are going to fit him out with a standard police uniform that is two sizes too small.

How ;long before that gun "disappears?"

My thought's exactly.. but whats more worrying is they actually think this is good PR !!

Did the dog have to have a "Lab" test to qualify for the gun?
