February 21, 201313 yr When we lease a land 30 year , can we ask the buiding permit in farang name ? Same for the bill of electric and water Here in bangsaphan yai they say me every thing must be in thai name thanks
February 21, 201313 yr Building permit can be in foreigner name, but electric meter should be in he name of the owner of the land. At least that is my personal experience.
February 21, 201313 yr Yes, you can ask for the building permit to be in your name but the utilities will be up to the provider but if your lease was listed on the properties Chanote (ie: blessed by the Land Office) , then you should be allowed to have them in your name. Since this is Thailand, your mileage may vary
February 21, 201313 yr This can be a problem, if you are not careful, you need to have the building permit registered by the local administration as per the building act in your name, utilities you can change to your name when you have the yellow house book. Laws are national, but interpretations are local, best to get some local lawyer, honest or not to try and guide you through . Jim

Agreements at a local level may not be recognized at a national level. There is no safe way you take a chance and hope for the best. Jim
