Triple Entry Tourist Visa

Featured Replies

I have paid for a triple entry tourist visa in England for my travels to Thailand. I a, in Laos at the moment on my first boarder run. Do I just need to re enter Thailand again to then get my 60'days???? I am slightly worried because my receipt says trx 3 entry's but the stamp says valid for one entry???

Any help would be appreciated

Let's try this over in the Thai Visa sub forum.

Ok thanks, I'm new to this

Ok thanks, I'm new to this

Now worries! This is where the experts hang out. Best of luck!

I'm not sure what the "stamp" and receipt that mentioned are. I have a triple entry tourist visa (sticker glued to my passport page) and it says three entries on it. Every time I enter, the immigration officer puts entry number on the visa so that they know how many entries I have used.

Good luck

Can you scan the visa, to see if you really were issued a single or triple entry visa.

You can just go to the border and enter Thailand. if you have a single entry they will give you 15 days to stay in Thailand, if you have a triple entry they will give you another 60 days if the visa itself is still valid.

If the their was a mistake with your visa, you can go to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Consular Department, where they can correct the mistake for you. (It is on Cheang Wattana Road, near BKK immigration). After they have corrected your visa, you will need to visit immigration to have the 15 days corrected to 60 days.

I have a triple entry tourist visa. Each time I go out of Thailand and return they stamp my passport which uses up that entry. With a triple entry visa you only have to go out of the country twice. However, just remember to make your departure and re-entry near the end of each 60 day period because you will lose whatever portion is remaining on that time period. Technically, you could possibly have 180 days in Thailand on a triple entry tourist visa, but it seldom works out that much. I usually lose about 4 or 8 days on my two exits because I can seldom time my exits that close. Once you have used up your three 60 day periods then you can cross any recognized border crossing and return to Thailand for a further 14 days. However, if you FLY back into Thailand from a foreign country then you are given the maximum of another 30 days. You can do that 3 times before you have to leave Thailand for at least 6 months.

Thank you I will post a photo of this......royal Thai embassy Liverpool n their website states 'leave Thailand for 48 hours' just renew thus getting your next 60 day period. I am slightly worried that they have given me a single but luckily I brought the receipt from the Thai consulate with me to Asia. Which says tr x 3 ( tourist visa)

Thank you for all the posts. Worst case I will sort it out in Bangkok within my 15 day stay

Looks like you paid for a triple but only got a single. Suspect that you will only get 15 day visa exempt entry when you come back in.

You paid for a 3 entry and got a single entry. You could try and show immigration the receipt when you enter Thailand but I doubt you will have any luck and will only get a 15 day entry.

A trip to the MFA will be needed to get it fixed as suggest by Mario2008.

Also you do not have to be out of the country for 48 hours as you were told. You can cross the border and immediately return if you want to.

Yes that is a Single Entry Tourist Visa that has now been used.

You will get 15 days.

As said you only have to stay in another country for one minute before returning.

Ok thanks, the royal thai consulate Liverpool will be getting a piece of my mind

Does this happen a lot? Sure I will get this 15 day visa???? I thought it should be easier than this!!!!

You will get a 15 day visa exempt entry.

Liverpool goofed up but a check of visa sooner would of been better than now.

it's probably worth you going to a thai embassy in laos while your there and get a new double entry tourist visa,

"Technically, you could possibly have 180 days in Thailand on a triple entry tourist visa, but it seldom works out that much."

Actually you can get almost 270 days on a triple entry tourist visa by extending each entry for 30 days at an immigration office.

"You can do that 3 times before you have to leave Thailand for at least 6 months."

Arrival without a visa will get you a visa exempt entry for 15 days by land or 30 days by air.

There hasn't been a '3 entries and out' scenario for several years.

Ok cool, I have booked my bus back to Bangkok already, I leave tomorrow morning. So I will take the 15 day exempt then visit the ministry in Bangkok like the other user said and sort this out. I didn't bother to check because I have never received a triple entry before and assumed you just re validate it upon returning back to Bangkok. Thanks for the help, I'll let you know if I get to Bangkok tomorrow. Anything else I should be aware of!!!! Do you think If I call the consul in Liverpool I could be cheeky and get expenses paid for their mistake ????

Ok I am off to sort my visa out today and the consul in Liverpool is calling later. Wish me luck. Again thanks for the advice!
