Drug dealers arrested in Lampang; 200,000 amphetamine tablets seized

LAMPANG, 22 February 2013 (NNT) – Police in Lampang arrested two drug dealers travelling on a bus heading to Bangkok at a checkpoint in Sob Prab District, seizing over 200,000 methamphetamine tablets.

The two suspects, who are Chiang Mai residents, admitted they would get an 80,000 baht pay by transporting the drug from Chiang Mai to Bangkok, claiming they delivered drugs for the first time. The drugs were put into 100 bundles inside their luggage.

During the inspection at the Sob Prab checkpoint in Lampang, the two were acting suspiciously, prompting the police to call them for detailed inspection and bag search. The authorities found the drug inside their bags and immediately made the arrest.

Mules, not dealers. But it will matter very little (to anyone)

10 years down the road when the two are still behind bars,

and the 200,000 pills have (ultimately) made it to the streets

anyway.
