-There will be appearance of few local foreign "known" people, people from media and radio

Puts me right off. sad.png

Do not need to speak with any of them if not interested .

Personally I like to put a face to a name for radio guys.

Can always just speak with me and I am annoying for only 59% of the time :D

I dont like cats or dogs, but will be there early, to get the free glass of wine! Just joking!!! I dont know Derik, but do know Paul and Sandra, from Cats 4 You, and they are out of this world, with the work they do for cats. Anyone that has an interest in adopting a cat, please come, and also take a look at their web site. Not only do kittens need a good home, but older cats also. If you visit their home, you will see how even the older cats are so loving, they are not wild, and have lots of love to give.

I i think older cats are great for older people or people who like clean house.

I have raised 7 kittens now, and lost count of money wasted on things they break, scratch, bite, and so on.

Sure kittens are cute, but let me tell you, they rip apart all the furniture, they jump around like little monkeys, knocking things over.

Older cats just lay around and look pretty,as cats get older, they get wiser and lazier.

Not sure if i got lucky, but most of my cats are real lap cats, love to sit with me or on me watching tv, and sleep around me.

Anyhow, see you at the party, but do not even think about having the free wine that PDB did not want tongue.png

how they were found.

Hope its OK to post, charity is based in Chain Mai but Karin now living here and does not want couple of hundred dogs here and Chang Mai.

Its really incredible what little grooming and love can do smile.png

This pics are killing me, love to take one but already house and work full.

I think the guy who runs mabrachan name is Derek, might be a good idea to give him a call and team up or something, or can always meet him at the party, i am pretty sure he will be there.

Assuming the party brings some animal lovers, may be also good idea to speak with the venue and may be bring the pups along, may be someone will not be able to say no.

Derek is my neighbor , he knows care for dogs and they are sending some dogs to Germany next month. I know he is puppied up at the moment. Seeing them in that mess I personally could not have left them either. They are loosing their cuteness as they are getting older and become harder to pass on. :-( Edited by marstons

Does anyone know what the tablets used to treat mange are called? Apparently they are sold at the 'lower' SB market.

Are there any shampoos that help treat mange?

Any vets that will give me the 'Thai price'?

Thanks

The vet on Pattaya Tai on the left coming off Sukhumvit not far down, think its called Pattaya Animal Hosital now, he has Ivormetin talets. I have always used that in liquid form, some say it does not help mange but it always worked for me, otherwise Frontline on the skin will work but to expensive for me at over 300 baht a go. Ivermectin turned the mange covered pup in the picture to the healthy monster in other picture. There is a government vet inside the fire station on 3rd road who may sell cheaper meds.

Marstons, the only thing I see wrong in the two photos, is that the healthy monster seems to have babies too! That is the whole problem. They will end up being soi dogs, and the circle continues. Not only do we need to keep our pets healthy, but stop the unnecessary breading. Sure, we can find homes to a few puppies, but if those puppies have puppies, then there are problems.

When my cat "became of age", I really wanted her to have one family of kittens, so she would experience being a mother, But, that would have made more problems. I think everyone will agree, there are enough cats and dogs in Thailand, and no one is taking care of them.

The Mayor and Pattaya People and Barry Upton the same evening? I doubt my heart or my stomach could stand it. Especially if they do a rendition of "Save your kisses for me".

I'll just mail a cheque in and too bad for the free wine.

Out of curiosity, may i ask what your beef is with Mayor or Barry Upton?

Oh, I have nothing in particular against them. I am very fair and I dislike all celebrities equally.

I hope you still come, as the party is not for them, but for the needy animals and people who are helping themwai.gif

You are partly correct, but also do keep in mind that healthy dog does not infect others, when less in pain less likely to attack.

Also more likely to be adopted by someone.

I do not know marstons, but i think he also desex them. I know all the ones i help, once they in good shape, i always desex them.

PS. The ones badly infested with mange are in great pain, so even though they are more likely to breed, but at least not in pain and less likely to spread it.

I know with my gang, all rescue dogs, when i first got them and looked terrible, including the cats, but after some love and care, they all look great. Great enough for locals to smile at me and them, to want to play with them, and pay attention to them.

The ones who are brave enough always ask me what breed, and i tell them -soi dogs, most do not believe me.

Point is, when its a healthy, shinny hair looking dog, it is more likely to be looked after by the people around.

5555 he is a male with no testicles, he is called BB Big Bas**d hence the small bitches look like babies. the babies are full grown bitches both neutered, they had pups that were also neutered. Maybe he is 3rd sex LB gender. No dog passes through my hands with out losing a few bits, they are all soi dogs living in a government compound near Marprachan bother nobody as no houses there. Picture 10 in one session in a field.

The other piture is street dog from outside of a 7/11 after 1 month his hair is growing back and he is happy camper. Cost about 20 baht.

You are an animal undertaker, specialist regarding dogs and cats?

Executioner to? You send, not deliver yourself? Whole Thailand? How much you pay, if I take your corpses?

Per corps, per weight? coffee1.gif

Not discriminatory at all. I just dont like "celebrities" and prefer to stay as far away from them as possible.

To be fair i don't think the Mayor and Barry Upton come under most people's definition of "Celebrities". Maybe in their own minds!

Whilst on the subject of dogs, was at the beach by the navy base in Sattahip today - the one patrolled by the military police. First time in Thailand that I saw a sign, in Thai, saying please do not feed dogs. You could see their was a big drop in the usual dog population at that beach. it's a shame the same initiative is not implemented at other holiday beaches to reduce the pollution by dogs defecating and urinating on the beaches.

I just wish farang would also stop this do good nonsense of feeding dogs on the beaches.

Is it ok to feed them on the streets? away from the beach?

and

is it ok to take them away from the streets and shelter them?

Do you prefer peoples defecation and urine over dogs? cause they(people sure crap and piss on the beach daily) and no signs not to do that

Just a personnel view, but no it's not OK to feed dogs on the streets, as just encourages an ever expanding population of dogs. Shelters? why not, so long as not near where I live with all the barking.

Yet to observe people crap and piss on the beach. BTW surely you're not saying it's OK for dogs to do so.

I see, so your idea of living in Thailand is only to consume whatever it has to offer and offer nothing in return?

People who actually do something to make change are a bother to you if its next to you?

And to express yourself, you have found the only thread about helping the animals to post your views?

You much prefer to see hungry, suffering and angry dogs to then complain that soi dogs attack you?

Since you bothered all that much, by the barking, people feeding animals, why do not you do something about it? something more than just post on Thai Visa.?

One of the organizers put it very nicely, if you not happy with something, then do something about it, instead of just complaining on computerwai2.gif

Sorry Marstons, wrong call on my part! Hope we meet at the party!

No problem he is one of the biggest street dogs I have seen hence the little dogs looking like pups, I did take him home but he destroyed every thing. Where they are is a big area with no human population so do not bother anybody. You are correct its a continuing circle, interested to see what the mayor has to say, as really it should be down to him to provide a free neutering service. Phuket, Samui and Chang Mai have them all be it all farang run.

Surprising thing is what they live on but when I bring them home they always get rats and mice from around the house, so whilst understanding people being anti wild dogs they do a bit of good.

You need to take a chill pill, I was commenting on the reduction of the numbers of dogs on a beach, that appears to be due to a request not to feed the dogs; that to me is a good outcome. Your very aggressive responses to people who do not like Soi and stray dogs in Thailand, in my opinion, does your cause more harm than good.

I provide assistance for some poor members of my extended family, so do not insult me by accusing me of "only being a consumer in Thailand".

Yes I have done something about pet owners dogs that constantly bark and defecate in the street in my Moo Baan. Yet to have a Soi or stray dog attack me and if one did it would not have a long life.

Does anyone know what the tablets used to treat mange are called? Apparently they are sold at the 'lower' SB market.

Are there any shampoos that help treat mange?

Any vets that will give me the 'Thai price'?

Thanks

The vet on Pattaya Tai on the left coming off Sukhumvit not far down, think its called Pattaya Animal Hosital now, he has Ivormetin tablets.
Thanks. How much for the Ivormetin tablets?
I think they are 180 for 10, not 100% on that though as I have not bought any for a while, when the farm show comes to Pattaya I usually buy 100ml bottles for less than 200 baht, 1 bottle does 50 dogs so better for me to mix this with some meat. Tablets are handy to keep on bike as if see a really bad dog I can buy sausage from 7/11 and put a pill in.

as for your drivel about killing animals, please find another thread as this one is about helping them and people who help .

You do not like soi dogs, do not come on to thread about helping soi dogs, save it for another hater threadrolleyes.gif

Marston 100%, its 100 baht for a box of ten, I always buy from Soi Buakhow market and its 100baht for Bio-mec brand and 120 for En dex brand.
