12 Month Multi Entry Ed Visa And A Clueless Nak Muay!

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I have obtained a 12 month ED mutli entry visa studying Muay Thai. I entered Thailand on the 1/1 and plan to travel to different gyms in Thailand studying the art.

when I reach the first 90 days I need to extend for another 90 by visiting immigration or going through the border.when I initially applied for this 12 month visa I had planned to stay with the school the whole time, however I would now like to study at many gyms allowing me to see Thailand and all its beauty.

My concern with going to immigration for the first re-entry permit is that I do not plan on studying continuously at this gym, and therefore cannot request further papers etc. can I therefore just run the border instead without being questioned on my attendance/address and providing further paperwork from the school etc?

Thanks all apologies if this question has been asked before.

You can only get a new 90 day entry by leaving and re-entering the country (just a few minutes out is ok). It cannot be done at immigration. You can do this as many times as you want until the visa expires and can do an entry just before it expires and get another 90 days.

Since you have a multiple entry visa you do not need to do anything at immigration and do not have to remain at same location.

Your visa allows you unlimited entries into Thailand during the time the visa is valid, each time you enter Thailand you will get 90 days to stay. Som by simply leaving and returning to Thailad you get a new 90 days.

It is unlikely you will get a 1 year extension of stay from immigration, so leaving and re-entering the same day is your best option. You just show the visa when you enter Thailand again and that is it.

As said, leave the country , enter another country and return to get 90 days on each entry.
