Debt Recovery

Featured Replies

I'm owed money by a (so called) reputable Bangkok Business Services group and the debt is now 9 years old. Any recommendations about getting my money back quickly and at minimum cost. Debt is not massive but enough to hurt both pocket and pride. I have a contract signed by the MD. His attitude seems to be that he's paid me my capital back and does not need to pay the interest. I lent him the money to get his company out of a hole. So there's gratitude for you.

Those of you who work in the Bangkok business world will know the outfit concerned

Cheers

After 9 years I think you need to forget about it and move on. Not sure about he laws here, but in the UK, you can't claim after 6 years. Why have you waited 9 years?

Have you considered naming them?

Maybe the MD would consider settling up if he know you were considering this.

You can use forums, websites, press, facebook, youtube etc etc. just tell everyone the facts

sell the debt there are some not so nice people that would be interested if its enough.w00t.gif

Even if true, naming and shaming can land you a criminal lawsuit...

Thai libel/defamation laws are solidly on the side of the businesses

9 years. Dead duck.

You say you want to get you owed interest back quickly.

As I am sure you are a business person will you apply RPI to the 9 year old debt?

I think you should have left the word quickly out of your post as you've had 9 years already to deal with this issue.

Good luck.

There's a statute of limitations for crooks after 11 years , just ask Thaskincoffee1.gif

So you are owed money by a Thai company, not a hope in the world. Integrety is not in the dictionary, in a country where adroitness in corruption is admired who will care?
