Anybody know where i can get one of those electronic gadgets that send out radio waves to deter rodents. Some guy said that he got one from Home Pro somewhere on the mainland for Bht1200. But Home Pro here have no idea what i am talking about.

I sold these occasionally to customers but was never convinced that they worked, or at least they only worked for a limited time.

I had one once, never worked.

But that doesn't means some kind could be effective.

Apparently this guys was made in India and worked very well as neighbours were thanking him. But think he is in Isaan somewhere.

Probably several on the market if i could only find them.

I bought 2 from homepro...but elsewhere...circa 700b each.

Work very well, no return of rats since turning it on.

How long ago was that? Was in there yesterday and told "No have" end of story !

I would be interested in an effective deterrent too, unfortunately one of our dogs has a very strong hunting instinct and I don't know how well a cat would fare.

Note I said 'but elsewhere'....I do not live in Samui.

I was replying simply re the use of the electronic device.

Well diddums it is a Samui specific question so fair enough hes asking you where you found it.

Some interesting comments on the wikipedia page

Post #2 asked re its effectiveness.

He did not state where it was not effective....if he said it was only not effective in samui, then fair enough.

2 people appreciated the answer....even some PM's asking about them....so why you feel the need to butt in ?

I did mention 'elsewhere'.

If the electronic deterrent does not work, I can recommend getting a tokay or two. I have 6 - 7 tokays in my roof - the rats do not stay for long. (Nor do the snakes.)

To the OP : Did you ask them in Thai?

@Diddums, So this means they are on sale but perhaps only on the mainland? I am sure they can order them if it was discussed in proper Thai language @Homepro..

Good luck on that oldsailor

I think the device works on high pitch radio waves inaudible to the human ear.. I worry this could be damaging to the human body..

I have used many methods over many years to try and deter rodents and also tried these gadgets with little success.

The best way forward is to block access holes into your property, remove all food sources and store in plastic boxes with lids and lay trays of rodent bait in hidden away locations and, if they do come, let the poison do the work for you!

Good luck! thumbsup.gif

Stop worrying, they are perfectly safe and out of the human ear frequency range

Doubt only on the mainland...may have just been out of stock.

Regardless....we have had a positive outcome from them, we have 2.
