I have a question for all..

When my daughter was born my GF named my daughter without giving her a English name as well. We are wanting to add a English name on her Thai Birth papers and her USA Passport .

So she would have English, Thai and then last name on her papers. Now she only has Thai name and last name.

Is this a difficult process???

And what is the process in Thailand and at the USA Embassy to accomplish this?

But adding a name in Thai is normally not done, you change a name not add one. As you say the mother is your girlfriend, you are not the legal father of the child under Thai law, unless you legitimize the child at the Thai court.

When only having a Thai parent, a child cannot have a foreign name as the law requires that the name must have meaning in Thai. Exceptions are made for childen with a foreign parent, but as said they might require that you are the legal father.

Most people have a nick-name, which can be English.
