Buying Into An Existing Business As A Shareholder For A Visa

Featured Replies

If I buy into an existing business or am given say 1% of a Thai owned business then what type of visa could I get from it? What would be the projected cost and would I also need a work permit given I'm not going to be working?

[Edit] is there a limit to the buy in? Could it be 0.001%?

Ownership of shares in a company entitles you neither to a particular type of visa (from a consulate) nor to a particular type of extension of stay (from your local immigration office). It is employment by a Thai company, with a work permit, that entitles you to extensions of stay for the reason of employment.

The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place
