"ed" Visa Extension

Featured Replies

I've acquired a one-year multiple-entry "ED" Visa from my home country before coming to Thailand, and was able to do so without any documentation from a Thai school. Having been here for just over 2 months however, I'll be needing to extend my initial 90-day stay period near the end of this month. When I went to the Thai language school to sign up for courses and get a paper for a 90 day extension at Immigration they asked for a paper from the police back home, and unfortunately, due to an ongoing conflict there, asking a family member to acquire such a paper for me would pose a serious risk to their life. My question is: if I take a flight to a neighboring country (such as Malaysia) and then re-enter Thailand at an airport, would I get 90 more days of stay? Or will there be any problems during re-entry?

Thank you.

Leaving and re-entering the country why the visa is still valid will result in a new permission to stay for up to 90 days without any problems.

With a multiple entry Visa you would not need to fly out and back in, you could the the visa run with a land crossing and still get 90 days when you re enter Thailand

Sorry can't advise on any of the other stuff you mention
