March 10, 201313 yr When I am in Thailand I live in a village in the middle of no-where in Mahasarakham Province-no 3G available! I access the internet through AIS package via a USB dongle but the reception is, at best, slow and usually VERY slow. I have heard that attaching a USB extension lead to the dongle and placing it ,say, on the roof, increases the reception a lot. Has anyone any experience of this and basically, does it work?
March 10, 201313 yr I have used this method see here http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/613613-usb-extention-for-3g-dongle/#entry6040769 I have all so mounted a roof antenna and connected it to my USB dongle , and that works a bit better , depending on the distance you are from the 3G tower .
