Hello everyone!
In a few days I leave for a holiday in Thailand. I tried a lot of information about the best mobile operator with 3G internet connection for my nokia lumia 920 (microsim). Unfortunately, I noticed that 3G situation in Thai is really difficult to understand.
Thanks to your forum, and other sites, I think I understand that all things considered, the best 3G network speed and coverage (or the least bad) is provided by True Move H.
Will visit Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Chian Rai, Phuket (Hotel in Karon), Ko Phi Phi Don, Ko Phi Phi Leh and some other island we will decide when we will be in Thai.

From your experience / knowledge of these areas, do you think true move h can be a good choice?

That said, I have some practical questions about the activation of the pre paid sim and packages. Considering that I want to call and have 3G internet, I have to choose some particular sim http://truemoveh.truecorp.co.th/shopping/14, or any (micro) sim true move H going well?

With regard to packages: iPlay is the only prepaid package? http://truemoveh.truecorp.co.th/packages/iplay/entry/604
Or even iNet, iSmart are pre paid?

If only iPlay prepaid, I have to add the package internet http://truemoveh.truecorp.co.th/toppings/iplay/entry/654 of my choice, using the codes according to that table. Right?

Latest question (sorry for the length of the questions ...): I have a chat sim AIS 12 call, which gave me a friend returned from Thailand two weeks ago (used only for calling, not a lover of technology).

I tried to figure out something on the site AIS. But they sell many different sim, and I did not understand anything. One question: this chat sim AIS can be used to navigate in 3G buying a internet package? (just to know if I can be useful, or even do not bring in Thai).

Well, now I have finished the questions. I hope that someone will and patience to explain something. I would be a great pleasure!

Thank you again!

How long will you be in Thailand? How much mobile data do you think you might consume over that period?

You should be able to buy any TrueMove H duo-cut SIM (micro-SIM snaps out), even at the TrueMove shop at Suvarnabhumi Bangkok International Airport (BKK), level 2 outside Customs, or at any convenience store or mobile shop here. Then add value, via top-up cards, or direct payment, then subscribe to the desired data plan.

I might recommend the 599 baht/2 GB unlimited plan which covers 1 month and auto-renews if you have the balance: *900*599# is the activation code.

You could also add value to the AIS/One-2-Call SIM, then subscribe to a data plan. They have a 2GB unlimited plan for 550 baht: *133*23# is the activation code

Hello! Thanks for the reply!
I will stay in Thailand almost 20 days. My consumption of MB will be very high, so I wanted to choose a high data plan.

Looking at your link http://truemoveh.truecorp.co.th/packagedetail/79/3G_Topping_%E0%B8%8B%E0%B8%B7%E0%B9%89%E0%B8%AD%E0%B9%80%E0%B8%AB%E0%B8%A1%E0%B8%B2%E0%B9%80%E0%B8%99%E0%B9%87%E0%B8%95%E0%B8%84%E0%B8%B4%E0%B8%94%E0%B8%95%E0%B8%B2%E0%B8%A1%E0%B8%88%E0%B8%A3%E0%B8%B4%E0%B8%87%E0%B9%80%E0%B8%9B%E0%B9%87%E0%B8%99%E0%B9%80%E0%B8%A1%E0%B8%81%E0%B8%81%E0%B8%B0%E0%B9%84%E0%B8%9A%E0%B8%97%E0%B9%8C_:_%E0%B9%81%E0%B8%9E%E0%B9%87%E0%B8%81%E0%B9%80%E0%B8%81%E0%B8%88%E0%B9%80%E0%B8%AA%E0%B8%A3%E0%B8%B4%E0%B8%A1%E0%B9%81%E0%B8%9A%E0%B8%9A%E0%B9%80%E0%B8%95%E0%B8%B4%E0%B8%A1%E0%B9%80%E0%B8%87%E0%B8%B4%E0%B8%99 , I see two major data plans. One that comes to 7 GB in the second table and a data plan that is up to 10 GB.

But if I look at on the site true move H http://truemoveh.truecorp.co.th/toppings/iplay/entry/654 , I see that the data packet largest is 5 GB.

I do not understand ....

About the AIS sim, if I confirm that accessing the data flat is fine any SIM (even the chat sim I own), I will keep it with me. Maybe you could help me, using the table you attached to your post. Thank you.

Another question about true move H: Many packages include unlimited wifi hotspots in true move H. How to recognize wifi networks that can be accessed because included in the package? And username and password which / how do you get?

Thanks again for the help!

I do not understand ....

TrueMove H's websites are sometimes impossible to understand. Maybe TrueMove H is transitioning to these new iPlay, ISmart, Inet sub-brands or packages? One never knows what they're up to.

In the older, two tables, the top-most has monthly recurring plans, and the 2/3/5/7 GB plans offer unlimited internet usage albeit at reduced speeds (128 Kbps) once you reach your cap. The bottom-mos table offers single, monthly non-recurring, hard-capped plans: 1/3/5/10 GB, with which you start to pay by the kB or min once you go over your hard cap.

The instructions for WiFi should be included in the SIM package; I think you send a service request and get a username and password returned. True WiFi access points are easily identified when you scan; maybe even with the name "True WiFi".

Maybe just go with the 5 or 7 GB unlimited plans?

You can use Google Translate to translate the terms and conditions, for example:

11th. Services WiFi by TrueMove H customers can use the phone number TrueMove H's user is your username followed by the domain @ truemoveH (08xxxxxxxx @ truemoveH) system will send password to the user. Connecting to the Internet via SMS.

12. Will receive your Username and Password to access the WiFi by TrueMove H within 6 hours of activation.

13th., If a user forgets their password can request a new password WiFi by TrueMove H 1331 or contact them by dialing * 902 # or SMS code sent to 9789 w.

14. In the service of WiFi by TrueMove H True Internet Co., Ltd. ("True Internet") True. Internet, it is necessary to cut the Internet connection (Session time out) every 180 minutes in order to monitor and record usage. After disabling it. If you want to continue. Users will need to close and reopen the connection again.

15. In the case of WiFi by TrueMove H customers Create Log out or do not use more than 15 consecutive minutes, the system will automatically Log out.

16. In connection with the use of WiFi by TrueMove H 1 username will support only one connection only.

It's probably as you say. Are making these new packages.

In any case, when I get to Thailand, I hope to clarify what are the packages available now.

Thanks also to the discussion on wifi networks. I had missed the terms and conditions.

Well, thanks to your help I think I got us something!

Of course, if anyone has any other updated information on new plans, will make me a great pleasure to write something about it.

PS If you use all available in GB data plan, can not activate a new flat data. So should I buy a new sim and activate a new data packet. Right?

Hi all! Are still in Thailand and I will tell you my experience with true move h. In Bangkok no problem find microsim and nanosim (iphone5) in stores true move, which can be found pretty easily especially in the commercial area. For pre paid (no document required), the plan is iPlay. You can add data packets also reported on the website true move. The biggest data Pack includes 5 GB data in 3 g/Edge/Gprs, high speed over 5 GB the speed is limited. Also with this (and other) package can use the wifi hot spot true move across the Thailand.

Let's cover: I've almost never had problems in northern Thailand (Bangkok, Chiang mai, Chiang rai and other isolated areas also). The coverage is pretty good and I rarely is happened that went national on the network roaming true move (without the H). In any remote Valley I was without signal, but also other operators weren't there. Now I am in Phuket (karon) and coverage is good here too.

the connection speed is acceptable across the northern part of Thailand. Obviously the 42 theoretical mbps are a fairy tale. Well that goes for download you have 1.5 Mbps. Upload the situation is more critical. Sometimes I had trouble doing uploads.

now here in Phuket (karon/kata) the coverage is excellent. But the down/up speeds are very low for many hours of the day. And here do Skype Communications is more difficult with frequent disconnections.

in the coming days I will do a few rounds in the Islands around Phuket and we will see the situation.
