I am working on some visa issues and I ran across Philip at Thai visa run.com. I am looking for a reference..good or bad?

I used them once. Never again.

First off, it is a 5 HOUR bus ride ONE WAY.

Second, the bus was packed, strangely, with a lot of Thais, going apparantly, to do duty free shopping or some such.

All in all, a very unpleasant experience.

I have used http://www.thaivisaservice.com/

Thank you.. I will check with them.. What I need help with is a 1 year retirement visa..

Despite OP having only 3 posts to his name...

You can diy visa run BKK to Aran for b1300 all in, incl usd20 for visa and bottle of jim beam. Minivan is 230ea way.

After that its just money in the bin.

It will be faster as well. Waiting for a group of people that have no clue will only slow you down.

I leave by 8 and back usually by 6 and yeah, its s long day but no way around that. No way visa service is going to be faster than diy. The return trip sucks, in the van about 4hrs due to traffic in pm. Sometimes I cut it short and take airport link some of the way.

Another bs possibility going with other farang is they dont drop at one point but drive these guys all over BKK and farang live in some cheap ass crazy places!

You do not need any visa agent to obtain retirement extensions of stay if you are qualified for them. The reqirement visa is only available from your home country (residence) so suspect you are actually asking about a one year extension of stay for retirement from immigration inside Thailand or the issue of a multi entry non immigrant O (other reasons) visa from a Consulate which requires exit of country every 90 days. Full information is contained on both in this forum and specific questions will get answers here. Most people do not use a visa service and it is not required. If you are actually asking about simple border crossings and returns it would vary on where you are located if a service might be convenient to use and if you have done such trips in the past (used to immigration procedures and possible scams).

Initial post unclear - my reply not germain.

A number of years ago when I still needed to do the occasional run, I used Thai Visa Run several times, and appreciated the service.

The one day trip in the large comfortable bus was made easy and convenient - included a choice of meal, a couple of short stops, and all the paperwork. Sure, I paid for the help, but definitely felt it was worthwhile.

However, I once did the overnight trip up to Vientianne with them, and could not recommend that. It was a minivan, which for that distance, is beyond uncomfortable. Included a night at a hotel and some meals, but the ride was not worth the effort.

As I said, I did this a number of years back, but if I had to again, I'd go with them. One of the advantages is the time and location of their departure. Much easier than navigating across the city at some very early time.

"What I need help with is a 1 year retirement visa.."

What exactly do you need help with?

As mentioned above, all options except for an actual one year retirement visa, are easy enough to do yourself.

Now I am on a multiple entry tourist visa.. expires 28th of this month. Representtions are being made that it is possible to obtain a 3 month non -O- visa plus a 1 year retirement visa in 4 hours. Nothing to do on my part except for the agreed upon compensation. is this possible? what could the problems be? anyone else utilized this service?

Poster has advised by PM concern was for obtaining retirement entry conversion and then retirement visa using the two step process and procedure explained to him that could be done by himself or he could use help to do but very easy and no seasoning required for the first conversion to non immigrant visa entry step.
