TCA
Anybody got an idea of motorbike shipping prices to the UK from Thailand? Yamaha Nouvo Elegance is the bike. I've no accurate idea about how bike prices in the UK compare but I'm sure I couldn't buy an equivalent for what I paid here, about 55,000 baht from memory. Anybody know if this would be worthwhile or should I just flog it when leaving? Also, what's the story regarding use of Thai bike licence in the UK? petertucker48
Check this out: http://www.dft.gov.uk/vca/other/importing-a-vehicle-common-questions.asp Don,t bother shipping costs too high importing tax plus registration cost will cost more than bike. JusMe
I tried checking into shipping my Nouvo Elegance to Canada. After the shipping costs, I'd have to do so much modification of the bike to pass the inspection system that it clearly wasn't worth the effort. TCA
Thanks for the link Peter and to JusMe. The documentation required and possible modifications looks horrendous! That's before considering shipping costs. Time to flog it! What's the going rate for a 3.5 year old Yamaha Nouvo Elegance? 17,400km on the clock. Only used in and around town. 1 careful owner (me).
