Ed Visa Renewal Problem

Featured Replies

Hi folks, hope I'm in the right section and someone will have some advice on a possible problem I could be facing soon. So here goes.....

I have an ED Visa that is 'valid' untill beginning of August (as in the one year of validity runs till then)

I plan on signing up for lessons for another year, and have been told by the school that this is very straight forward.

My problem is that I have to return to England at the end of May. I will get a permission to leave stamp, and have been told it will be valid for the duration of the existing extension stamp, which will be till around the beginning of July.

My problem is that there is a chance I won't be able to get back to Thailand till the middle of July.

If I miss the date of my extension/permission to leave reentry permit I guess I will invalidate the ED visa, so my question is whether or not I will be able to sign up again for lessons and extend/activate a second year on the Visa that would still have been valid until August - or am I looking at having to take all the paperwork to a Thai Embassy/consulate in a neighbouring country and start the whole process again?

Apologies for the long-winded and round the houses post, any advice will be gratefully received.

Thx

You would have to obtain a new ED visa entry and then start extending again. You might want to have paperwork to obtain during your home visit just in case.
