We received a visit from a Japanese man on Thursday afternoon who needed our help to track down his Thai Wife. This is Mr. Kenji Oo-asaka aged 65 who was accompanied by his daughter aged 5. They asked us to post an appeal for Khun Panom aged 36 from Nakhom Rachaseema Province in the North-East of Thailand.

He brought along pictures of his wife and told us that she has been missing since the 11th February and no contact with her has been made since then. He is now worried and desperate to locate her and is also concerned about her well-being and fears the worst. If you know this woman please contact Pattaya City News immediately on 09 769 9655.

What a wonderfully informative piece of journalism! :o

Was the guy living in Thailand, or was he here on holiday?

Did the wife disappear from Japan or Pattaya?

Did she just go out and not come back? Or did she go somewhere specific (like to her home in Korat), and not return on schedule?

Did he go out for a massage, short time, drink, a plate of sushi, and return to find her missing?

Did she take anything with her? - clothes? valuables? TV? husband's wallet?

Did they have an argument?

Were they happily married?

Did they have finacial problesms

Shall I go on?

Award of the year goes to the 'Pattaya City News' news team . :D:D

We can make our own Story now since we have no Info whatsoever , only a Picture.

So lets start the Story.

Long long time ago there was a Bar near Hotel Rex in Bangkok that was mostly visited by Japanese Business Man......anybody goes on with it???

one evening , kenji san , a visiting businessman from osaka , was sitting in the bar near the rex , sipping his fourth whisky and smoking his tenth cigarette of the evening and feeling a little lonely.

he had spent most of the day trying to sell the production rights for plastic grommets to a consortium of thais who were more interested in their lunch than doing deals , and the meeting was spectacularly unsuccessful.

the waitress serving him was an attractive young thing who gave him a flirtatious smile as he held his gaze for just a fraction too long at her well turned thigh and creamy cleavage , exposed as they were by her mini skirted and low cut uniform.

kenji started to feel familiar tremblings in the trouser department when all of a sudden....................................

If my wife went missing, leaving me with our 5 year old daughter, I would be a might worried.

I don't think it is really a laughing matter. I do hope the situation is resolved quickly. With or without TV's help. :o

I was having a go at the Pattaya Mail - with their sparse background (or should I say non- existent background?) on this story. Not the story itself.

No disrespect to the poor guy involved, and I too hope he finds his wife unharmed.

Happened to me many years ago - just after the marriage, just after I redeemed her diamond ring from the pawn shop and just after I asked her to take care of a wad of cash. Never found her, but did find the house she built for her mother :D

I'm sure if anyone on this forum recognises the lady, they will let the Mail know.

In the meantime, just having a bit of harmless fun :D

Dont be so hard on the Pattaya Mail either...maybe they were only allowed to print so much in the paper at the rerquest of the Japanese guy. He may not have wanted their lifestory put out in public.

You might want to take a look at this one Jai Dee. You were quick enough to close down a thread recently when the Yanks got offended by some light hearted banter.

This is a serious thread, the poor blokes lost his wife, and what's more there's a wee girl without her mum.

Just because the bloke's a Jap, no excuase to take the piss.

Right,

Lifestory for the Public is one thing, but where she was lost (or any other hints),is another, and that would really help to find her.

Somchai - whats your point???

Nobody took a piss over a Japanese it's just a made up Story . We don't know that Story thanks to the Pattaya Mail.

What on earth did the Pattaya Mail do wrong?

My sympathy to the husband he must be worried sick.

Nothing. It was the Pattaya City News that contained no helpful information or background.

Somchai, I think your request to close this thread is a bit over the top. But there you go - what do I know? :o

Why not close this thread?

Looks like she isn't a crimevictim... or did our desperate japanese guy just forgot that there was something called "Police"?

Don't be the snoophound for someone you don't know.

I think PCN is missing the one important aspect - where/when she was last scene and is their any reason for her disappearance.

Def no joke - think of it if your gf/spouse went missing in such a fashion. :o

I think I might have said something like that 14 posts ago :o

Good one mate :o:D

AFAIK girls do not disappear unless they come across something better (or perhaps gambling debts?)

A Japanese bloke is a very good catch around my area, I doubt the lady inquestion just up and left. I hope it all works out well for the guy. It must have taken some balls to go to PCN for help.

It doesn't matter if he's Japanese or older than his wife. There is also a little girl involved, age 5 :o and she must be missing her Mom too.

The odd thing is that she went missing on Feb 11 and he came to the Pattaya News on March 9th.

Didn't he go to the Police?

Strange but sad story.

It's sad, an old man worried sick and a little girl without her mom, like many small girls in Thailand unfortunately...Hope she is not in a crack hole with her thai tirak or another farang as I also hope she is unharmed and faithful to her familly...

As for the japanese...don't be so hard on them, many of hem don't just loose money, are giving them because they have it and because they have good heart and wouldn't be a boom in their budget...on the other side, there are a lot of Yakuza in Thailand, that are not that naive...just give it a think

OK, time for PCN to join this discussion.

There is a lack of detail in the story because he could not speak a word of Thai or English. I met both the father and daughter and the young girl was really cute and I felt sorry for them both. He came to me for help and I did my best for him and his daughter. Sorry the info was lacking but, at the time, communication was difficult and after phoning around I could not locate a Japanese Interpretor. I wanted to get the story out quickly. We also sent the story to ITV for some national coverage.

Thanks hm1973 for calarification - at least we understand the situation a little better.

Forgive me for being picky, but you mean to tell me after 5 years of marriage, this guy didn't speak a word of Thai? His wife must have spoken incredible Japanese. And while I accept it might have been difficult to talk to the daughter, surely she must have spoken Thai and been able to throw some more light on the disappearance of her mother?

Any follow up on this story from pcn Yet? :o

We handed the case to the Tourist Police and Mobi'Dark, I can assure you he did not speak one word of Thai which would have made things a lot easier to get some details. No follow-up yet, but we are keeping an eye on the story.
