I have another question fro you today.

I'm here on a one-year work permit or working visa. The university I work for does all the visa chores for me and they do the same for the teacher's family (wife/husband, children). So my boyfriend and I are thinking that getting married would probably make things easier for him, who is here on a tourist visa which is expiring at the end of April (but in April is traveling back and forth to India for a job).

The thing is:

- I was told by someone from the HR office of my faculty that if we get married, he could get a VISA for staying here as long as I stay here.

- He was told by a VISA agent that in oder to get that kind of VISA (I do not know the name of it) we have to get marry, but it's not enough: my salary MUST be over a certain amount, which he doesn't recall, but it's certainly more than my small 35000 bath/month salary (and the over time can't be calculate in it, because it's not written on the contract).

Who is right?

I'm not sure I was clear... but I hope someone can understand my question.

If you have a one year extension of stay from immigration (you do 90 day address report but do not have to leave country every 90 days) your legal spouse can obtain a non immigrant O visa and then extend to match your extension. There is no financial requirement for this.

I've read the police order. At the end of it, on the last page, there's a minimum income requirement set at 50.000 bath/month for European country. Does this mean that has to be my minimum salary?

For teachers the rule is overlooked. There is no minimum salary.

Minimum salary is for those working under clause 2.1 of the police order.
