Bank Statement And Outbound Ticket For Thai Tourist Visa

Featured Replies

Some Thai embassies-and I am thinking here in particular of the one in Manila- require a bank statement and outbound ticket for the issuance of a tourist visa.I have a few question concerning these two requirements:

1)In the absence of a credit card what would count as proof of sufficient funds:I assume an ATM slip from a Thai bank before leaving thailand is not enough?

2)Does the proof of outbound travel have to be a confirmed flight?

Or could it be lets say a rain ticket to Malaysia?

Just curious, but why don't you ask them since it is their requirements? I would expect an updated bank book, and any outbound ticket, but Manila has a reputation of not being very helpful.

A credit card won't help since they won't know if the card is good or how much credit is available. They wanna see that you have cash, so the answer is a bank statement or passbook. Can you print up a statement from your bank online?

These are MFA requirements for issue of a visa and are air ticket and money in cash.

Evidence of travel from Thailand (air ticket paid in full)
- Evidence of adequate finance (20,000 Baht per person and 40,000 Baht per family)

I am in India at the moment, and they asked for the same requirements, a copy of my credit card was fine for myself, without even a statement. I am also traveling with my girlfriend who is from Laos, so for her credit status we simply had to go and photocopy 700 dollars, seems crazy cause we could go and spend them after photocopying anyway. Most difficult thing was getting the dollars as I am from uk and had plenty of pounds but no dollars. With regards to the confirmed ticket I had to show air tickets leaving the country
