Hello, am wondering if you guys can help??

Am going to apply for a 3 month visitor for my partner.

Does the documentation she provide, i.e proof of land ownership, id card, birth certificate for children etc..., need to be translated into english format for the embassy to understand and use???

Look forward to your replies, thanks.

Which country are you applying for the visa for?

If it's the UK, then their guidance states that;

If you send us a document that is not in English or Welsh, it must be accompanied by a full translation that can be independently verified by us. Each translated document must contain:

  • confirmation from the translator that it is an accurate translation of the original document;
  • the date of the translation;
  • the translator's full name and signature; and
  • the translator's contact details.

We applied for a family visit visa for my wife in Jan 2013, as in previous applications, the form was filled in, in English and my accompanying documentation was in English, but we submitted everything else in Thai untranslated without problems, picking up the passport and visa ten days later.

Hope this helps
