One small old drunk guy about 60 had taken 3 drinking in a non go-go. One of them had been trying it on with me, not interested. It's almost as if they take it as a personal affront when "their" women - of their own volition - talk to or express interest in other men.

How about the reverse?

I took a girl out to Insomnia once and after some time I got tired of dancing so walked over to our table for a smoking break while she kept dancing.

Girl next to our table touches my arm and ask for a smoke so I gave her a wonder red.

Next I get whacked around the head by miss pretty who jumped off the podium and gets all mental on me.

fighting over it is pathetic, however paying the barfine is paying for an escort service, not just to get her from the bar as you said, otherwise she would take the money and just split everytime and go see a movie with her friends with your barfine money.

she is paid for a service, with the man paying, not with everyman she comes across.

If the guy who bought all the food, just saved his money and brought her back for business, none of this would have happened. Makes me laugh when the dumb farang thinks he has pulled some HiSo bird in there, when in truth she is nothing more than a Hi class call girl.

But lets give these women their due, they dont suffer from the same delusions as the farang do, in fact if you speak Thai with them they will tell you straight to your face the guy is nothing more than a customer.

Often, the restaurant dinner, the club "VIP" table, the big bottle of whisky or vodka and, of course, the attractive girl are just props to show other men that he's "living large".

Often, this kind of man has spent much of his adult life looking enviously on as his peers back home with, perhaps more money, better looks or personality, socialise with and date attractive women that he, for whatever reason, can't seem to get next to but here in Thailand - for a couple of weeks at least - he can be that guy.

Still, there isn't anything particularly wrong with that in principle. If he wants to live that fantasy, it's up to him but it's always advisable to remember that wherever you go, there'll always be another guy who the bargirl will regard as a "better bet".
