Dog Urinating In The Same Place

Featured Replies

Apologies if this has been asked before. I have 2 dogs a pug and a shitzu(?) and we recently moved to a new house without grass. The pug is a male and does his business against the trees as normal however the Shitzu is a bitch and she has found her spot to pie on the front porch by the main entrance to the house. I have tried vinegar and pepper as per some posts I have seen but it does not help. I have also tried feeding them in that spot thinking that she will not "pee where she eats".

The are outside most of the day and she never pees when one of us is near her so I am not sure about how to go about it.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

Mothballs?

I've found the "not pee where she eats" rule applies to all dogs - except shih-tzu bitches!

... and no, I'm not joking - I wish I was.

Can you put something where she likes to pee to make it impossible - if only for a week or so until she settles on somewhere else. Failing that - in Robinson kids department they sell spy kits - one of them is a laser beam alarm (I kid you not - my kids love them) - working toy. You could set it up so when she goes there she triggers the alarm - which hopefully will disturb her enough to go elsewhere.

The only other thing I can think of (other than a low voltage plate or some smelly chemicals) is either use an ultrasonic speaker (never seen them for sale here - but at home in Kent we used them for squirrels and foxes) - might p!ss off the both dogs but hopefully they will both sty as far from it as possible; or sit by the door with a water gun and wait.
