I am about to cancel my work-permit and have heard that I have 24 hours to get out of Thailand; nice!

The plan is to get a multi-entry tourist visa and start the whole procedure once again. But where best to get a multi-entry tourist visa?

I would prefer a Penang run, but experience has shown that they might be least likely to give multi-entries (I only need 90 days).

Laos, on the other hand, have been kinder; is this still the case?

Laos is likely the only choice in the area. But if you only need 90 days a single entry with extension would take care of you. And if you need time to leave you can apply for extension of stay and be allowed 7 days.

I too was thinking Laos for a single entry, as I had no problem before. However, I know how unpredictable these things can be and just wanted positive some recent feedback.

You can get a 2 entry (multiple entry does not exist anywhere only 1,2 or 3 entry) in Laos at Vientiane or Savannakhet.
