Thai Police Arrest German-Thai Couple For Opening Illegal School

Recommended Posts

Germany is the biggest exporter in Europe. German goods like cars,PORSCHE BMW, BENZ, AUDI, VOLKSWAGEN, etc....then many other goods like food, technology, ( almost all brewery technology in Asia's from a well known German company).

basically everything smart has its roots from Germany and/or Japan tongue.png

but seriously, i doubt that is a thai-reason to learn German ...

at least not for the marjory of peoples do so, and the ones do have this reason sure not study german in a townhouse-school in pattaya!

well my wife speaks perfectly german (no, not because of me being german!) this has a great benefit for her work at the Airport.

since its a frequently used language here, and not many thai's can speak it, puts her in a special field/position on the job and better salery as well.

but that just happend a few years ago, and was not exacly planned to turn out like this.

so guess you right ... not much reasons to learn german after all wink.png

Why bring your racist views here about Americans? What does this have to do with a German running an illegal school?

I don't even know him personally but get annoyed by the constantly false reporting of our media here and then by comments in this forum.

Preferably by Americans who do not stay here and give advice why the strong Baht will kill Thailand. (Bhat is a fine reference, then you know you are reading the professionals neus.gif )

But that's another story altogether, Right?!

Should i have the time and check your IP, and find that you are from USA -- i might loose my temper.

For now pls. learn that things are done by handshake and word of mouth. Nobody needs a lawyer.

they did basically all the research and collected the evidence with hidden cameras and lawyers checking on the backgrounds in Germany and Thailand.

the "manager" was identified as the person wanted in Germany for in over 40 cases .. including big-scale Cheating and personal assault

The Thai cops there were called by the German team to protect them. Pretty funny when the witch wanted to tell them to get rid off the camera team.

This prick charged 5,000 Euros in cash for one year tutoring/teaching. All was a lie, neither accredited by the MoE, nor by a German institution.

Great job what the German camera team did! There was never a parent who'd informed the cops, feel sad for the guy who'd lost 80,000 Euros he'd paid for a house somebody else owns..

He's showing him some documents in Thai and the simple guy gave him all his savings he'd made in 20 years. Shame on this prick and his wife

German? Why would a thai wana learn German?

Is it the Pattaya/German thing?

I taught German at two schools,(actually teaching English full time) more as a hobby because some kids wanted to. Just met an exchange student coming back from Germany where she'd been an exchange student for one year.

She's almost fluent in German!

Now she continues learning German at her high school, being much better than her Thai German teacher and she knows why she's doing it. Find it hard to believe that so many posters here don't know much about what's actually going on in this country and the rest of the world.

For those who're racist ( pretty sad that some people think all Germans are/were Nazis) and those who don't understand why Thais study the German language:

Germany is the biggest exporter in Europe. German goods like cars,PORSCHE BMW, BENZ, AUDI, VOLKSWAGEN, etc....then many other goods like food, technology, ( almost all brewery technology in Asia's from a well known German company).

A Thai being fluent in German/English and of course in Thai would easily find a good position working for a German company as a manager Making good money, plus many other beneficial agreements.

Such an educated Thai could also travel through SEA and work in other countries for German companies. Some could get a job in Germany, making a lot of money, and so on....

Not ending up as a 7-eleven clerk. Hope that does make sense to you.--wai2.gif

.

You know, you folks really need to give up the "racist" accusation. You must be carrying around a xxxxload of social guilt if you think everybody who wonders why anyone would want to study German is a racist that associates all Germans with Nazis. Who would do that???

Sure, Gemany is an economic powerhouse and a big exporter. In the US, I proudly rode a BMW motorcycle and drove a BMW car. But everything was in English: Sales, service, the manual. Germany does its most of its international business in English. because English is the language of commerce. Most if not all Germans learn to speak English. So unless somebody is planning to go to Germany to work (or suck the government tit, as mentioned by one poster), thre is really no reason to learn German. You can learn English to go work almost anywhere, but German? Only one small, albeit successful, country in Europe.

Kudos to your Thai student who is now fluent in German. It has probably opened a few doors for her. But I would submit that having become fluent in English instead would have opened the whole world.

Let's start here. I've met many Thai teachers, telling me that they'd love Hitler and what he did. I don't feel guilty about anything as I freaking hate racism and Nazis.

A friend is a supervisor for a big German company and they constantly look for German/English and Thai speaking people all over SEA.

Another company's seeking Thais with excellent writing skills to promote their products. Those Thais working for a German company are regularly invited to Germany, all expenses paid by the company.

I'd tutored some university students in German, all of them found a good paid job for German companies, the tourist police, Goethe institution in Bangkok and other good paid positions.

As already mentioned, some good schools with a language programme offer German as well.

Chulalongkorn in Bangkok were looking for a German lecturer.I had the job, but then decided not to live in Bangkok. So why would such a well- known university offer degrees in German? Please see:

http://www.grad.chula.ac.th/program_inter/arts/german.html

German isn't just the fist language in Germany. It's the first language in Switzerland, Austria and some other parts.

There are an estimated 100 million native German speakers. Adding those who speak German as a second language, there're around 180 million people speaking German.

And last but not least. The student I'd mentioned who had been an exchange student in Germany is fluent in English as well. -wai.gif

4. Both Owners are wanted on 40 charges in Germany, correct.

Does this make the school "Bad"? Has anybody checked on the teachers? Would be much more important.

This guy ripped an old German guy off, selling him a house, where somebody else lives inside. Yes, it does make the "school" ( got a big problem to call it so) look pretty bad.

The "teacher" from a northern German part didn't seem to be a professional. Seems that you're this prick"s friend.

Well, here is another half-story to keep us all guessing about what actually happened.

Charges in Germany... well, charges are charges, but to be criminal one needs convictions not just charges. It may be that there are convictions, but given the quality of the reporting it's anyone's guess what happened.

Time will tell, running a school with an incorrect license, or having a teacher without a work permit is hardly crime of the century now is it!

But they are BOTH still crimes so in my book the police did the correct thing and closed it down. The bigger question here is would you allow your kids into this school knowing that it didn't comply with the MOE regulations?coffee1.gifclap2.gifcoffee1.gif

True for most parts of the world but not Europe. German is the important language, and English on the back seat, even in commerce. Many EU countries teach German compulsory as the first foreign language, and it pays at the moment to speak it. Low unemployment, and lots of people immigrating from Greece, Italy, Spain, wherever <deleted> hits the fan. I heared Germany became #1 immigration destination, surpassing both the US and UK last year.

Sure a German school or any additional language school is a good Idea for a child did they have there own kids in the school too?? Any body opening any type of business or buying any condo land or doing just about any thing in thailand should have a lawyer look over everything 1st & see if licenses or permits are needed..

Sir, why dont you stay in that Nanny State, wherever you are from.

Thinking for yourself is allowed, here!

So when do you start? Nobody here is helped by quoting utter nonsense you might have read somewhere. But i doubt it was read, i guess it was from "listening".

Should i have the time and check your IP, and find that you are from USA -- i might loose my temper.

This post is complete rubbish. It's almost troll like in its wording.

Any one who believes spending millions of baht in a foreign country opening a business doesn't need the services of a lawyer to check contracts etc. Is delusional.

The German word "Handwerker" means someone is working by hand (e.g. carpenter). He is a "Handworker". - Though this doesn't specify what kind of work his hands are doing smile.png

One of the students attending this school, came from a well to do korean family, the reason she attended was to learn german, so she could eventually study in switzerland

Journalism at its finest.

1. His name is Ralf Wirz, not Vios. Reading abilities would help.

2. There is no such thing as a "work permission card" for a school.

Definitely this school had all permits.

How do you get "cheated" when a teacher has no work permit?

3. "One of the complaining parents, Mrs. Siriyaboon Songsaeng, age 34, said

that she and her foreign husband had sent her son, age 3 years old, to

study in the kindergarten level. The school claimed that if students

progressed and graduated from secondary school grade 6 at their language

school, they will be able to continue studying in German".

This is partly correct, a school needs to be in operation for 5 years, then it can ask to be recognized as an international school.

Why would these silly parents now loose their money, AND, in 5 years, the chance to send their kid to Germany?

4. Both Owners are wanted on 40 charges in Germany, correct.

Does this make the school "Bad"? Has anybody checked on the teachers? Would be much more important.

To panic now that it became clear what might be wrong with the "director" doesn't help any parents or kids.

I was planning to send my daughter there and followed up this story...wub.png

Correct his name is Ralf Wirz however the school has no

license at all has never applied for and will never get one neither from the

German nor from the Thai Education Ministry because the “school” doesn’t comply

with the requirements of the authorities; this is a fact!

Don’t know about you but I don’t send my child to a

school where the “owners” are having over 40 pending court cases including

fraud and violence and 2 arrest warrants; beside the so called teachers might

be good guys but are not qualified (of course we have checked on that) and therefore

documents issued by this school are worthless.

Answering the question “how we get cheated” is easy; the

school owners advertise and conformed in meetings that they are licensed but

are not; how do you call that?

Hmm, i ran a language school myself and went through the paperwork to get it licensed.

Not really easy and watched carefully by the min. of education..

I believe you can not open a school in Thailand for 1,5 years without having the authorities all over you,

after three weeks.

Lets put it this way, albeit i am guessing. They were licensed; but not as an international school. That could have happened after 5 years and the young 3 year old brat, then an 8 year old brat, would/could/should be going to Germany. crying.gif Instead they blew it, as usual, and strain the legal resources, and complain, and feel cheated and so forth.

Quite impossible to open a school and have not done your paperwork.

That would be like Drunk Driving on Songkran, impossible!

Also i don't believe any parent called the police; somebody else did.

Because now they (parents...) lost all, money, school, deposits, the uniform, the hat and the stickers. Very smart indeed, unless they honestly believe they get some money back via court and such, in Thailand, from a German convict. clap2.gif Cmon, who would do this?

I totally agree that this guy is a criminal and should be punished for scamming 80.000 Euros out of this "Love-Clown", letting the money to pay for a house going through his account.

That guy was not able to open a bank acc. himself; so be it.

If 80.000 Euros lost makes you bankrupt (not that i like to experience it) Thailand is anyway too expensive for you.

I know, i sound defending this guy, but i don't.

What do americans have to do with this story, none mentioned as far as I know You are on a bit of a rant here. Defend the guy if you want but why muddle the story with stupid commits

Careful, I am not a friend and i don't even know this guy.

I was considering to put my child in exactly this school; that is why i followed up the whole story long before it appeared on Thai Visa.

The guy he ripped of was not able to open a bank acc. so he send the money for the house to the acc of Ralf W.

That leaves room for speculation.

The TV station that brought this up is considered even less serious then "The Sun", that's something, isn't it? blink.png

Either way it is difficult to come to a final conclusion, did another school xxxx him or did his bad deeds finally caught up?

Almost all of that documentary staff are cool guys and it's nice to know them. "The Sun" is considered as bad as the German "Bild Zeitung."

Do you think they'd faked this documentation?

knowing all three media, I must say Bild is by far ahead of the Sun in terms of reporting the truth and while it's true that "RTL explosiv" likes topics that sell and may over-emphasize certain sides of the story, their reporting is usually accurate and they don't mislead the public.

I don't know how some posters can seriously defend that petty criminal couple. With such a past in Germany, it's pretty clear that the story was going to have a bad end in Thailand.

Maybe the idea of a german Kindergarten and School in Pattaya is worth saving, i.e. placing it under new management and new ownership, but the two scammers have to go to prison. First in Thailand, and then in Germany.

I'm not sure why you're explaining this to me. Was me linking to 'let me google that for you' not clear enough. Or maybe I should hint explicitly whenever I'm attempting to use sarcasm in reference to kindergarten jokes; which would however lose the effect of sarcasm per sé. But thanks for explaining German to a native German speaker ;)

I think the German authorities will simply revoke the visa for the woman, never issue one for her again, and flag her for the entire EU. Her place is lovely Thailand, she can stay here for as long as she likes.
