So it's the time of the year to extend my visa based on retirement at Nonthaburi. Last year I had the 800,000plus quite a bit more in two bank books (same bank). Recently my wife phoned and talked to 'someone' who seemed to know what was wanted and she stated it must be in one book. Actually there has been over 1,000,000Baht in my books for more than 3-mopnths. So we will try next week.

If it fails then I have the option of changing to a married 'visa'. Can someone tell me exactly what I will need and then I can prepare the docs and photos .... thanks

It really does seem a little strange 800,000Baht is 800,000baht wether in one book or split between two books.

As long as cash accounts should be OK. For marriage you need the wife and marriage certificate, KR2 ledger entry (current copy), her ID card and home register and photos in/outside home (with clothing together in view if able and house or apartment number in another). Copies of everything and perhaps one more than retirement as not a local decision as will be a 30 day wait for final stamp (or longer).

Irecently did retirement extention in kk .Money in 2 bankbooks (same bank) more than 800,000, no problems what so ever.

Produced bank books letter from bank ,in out in 15 minutes, very happy .

Immigration staff helpful , polite ,efficient. full marks to them.

Perhaps there was a misunderstanding when wife talked with immigration and the one "book" was actually in reference to one "name" meaning account must be in your name only?

Sorry, this doesn't help your situation but might help explain why.

I've never actually been to Nonthaburi Immigration but do indirectly have dealings with them. The information I was recently given is that earlier this year some irregular activities relating to extensions were uncovered at that office which resulted in staff changes. Since then they have been very difficult to deal with.
