Popular Post wildorchid Posted April 9, 2013 Popular Post Posted April 9, 2013 The people that are doing this should be exterminated, they smpliy have no conscience, no feeling of man and animals have a right to live in peace, and guilty are most likly a Thai man should be so ashamed of this evil, as so many chang gave there lives for thailands freedom in past wars. 7

Popular Post WhizBang Posted April 9, 2013 Popular Post Posted April 9, 2013 As much as I would like to think that the police could catch the poachers, and that the courts would not only convict them and give them LONG jail terms, but I very much doubt anything at all will happen. This will all be forgotten by tomorrow. I really do despair for Thailand. So much potential, but all is lost in the name of greed and corruption. 8
kevvy Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 The elephant is the symbol of Thailand , years ago the flag was red with an elephant in the middle. Most Thai people rape their land and kill the wildlife, how can a country do this in this modern age . How can a government still let this happen. 2
ginjag Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 Sorry---but it's easy to catch people with no crash hats etc., BUT cannot get a vehicle carrying an elephants HEAD, All the world here recently listening to Thailands words on wildlife protection. NOW this, SICK to to the extreme, If I said what I wanted about this I would be Barred fron Forum. 1
seajae Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 simple, have open season on the poachers, maybe when they are getting shot instead of the wildlife they will stop doing it, either that or they will all be killed.

rubberduck Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 Torture and murder of holy elephants creates a very miserable KARMA ! 'A young wife - a long life'
Locationthailand Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 Sick puppies and for greed. I hope their karma bites their collective asses and brings them back as cockroaches. 1

Most Thai people rape their land and kill the wildlife, how can a country do this in this modern age . How can a government still let this happen. My thoughts exactly. Where is the protection of the animal from the criminals? Leading to WHO are the criminals? The previous slaughter only happened a month ago - why is it so easy to steal the valuables here? Truly a disgrace. ZERO accountability.

Popular Post Frank James Posted April 9, 2013 Popular Post Posted April 9, 2013 These conscienceless vermin should be hunted down and mercilessly exterminated, with the same zeal that was applied in the War on Drugs (ha!) here a few short years ago. Barring that, considering more 'civilised' sanctions, how about making the penalty for slaughtering the chang the same as for first degree murder of a human being. Elephants are at least as noble a life form as human, and in many cases they are far wiser than the average homo sapiens. 3
FarangTalk Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 Sick puppies and for greed. I hope their karma bites their collective asses and brings them back as cockroaches. Karma is definitely coming, of that you can be sure.

Many a western anthropologist (many a Cornell grad) have made a living interpreting these symbols to each other. But most of these symbols are just used by the elite to divert attention away from their rapaciousness. Heck, in Thailand, the elte aren't even Thai, but they have cunningly crafted an narrative that include them into Thai identity. The same thing happens in the US, just different symbols like apple pie, guns, and of course the flag.
Gerryasia Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 This is where the mini-drones could work FOR the planet. "Eyes in the sky" just might scare these idiots into compliance. One can only hope...'_' 1
Dap Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 simple, have open season on the poachers, maybe when they are getting shot instead of the wildlife they will stop doing it, either that or they will all be killed. There are the (honest) forest rangers out there trying to do their job. Unfortunately (for them) they are out-gunned and out-manned. And more unfortunately ... thay are also getting killed along with the wildlife they are trying to protect. Not everyone is corrupt (and not saying you thought so.) 2
PattayaPhom Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 Dont forget this is close to Burma and is probably already there
noitom Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 They don't need evidence in Thailand. They can just "choose" a random guy low on the Thai sakdina pecking order and then manufacture some evidence.

JetsetBkk Posted April 10, 2013 Posted April 10, 2013 He said the elephant slaughter continued despite patrols by forest officials, suggesting that the gang wasn't afraid of the law and might be backed by a big investor. ...or they knew the patrols were pretty much ineffective and easy to avoid.
MILT Posted April 10, 2013 Posted April 10, 2013 I am saddened once again to read this new. Laws are meant and will always be broken and unenforced. It's the individual change of heart that will make a difference in this country. Since when is the threat of death ever been a deterrent?
Seismic Posted April 10, 2013 Posted April 10, 2013 This really makes a joke of Thailands recent hosting of the CITES convention.
bigbamboo Posted April 10, 2013 Posted April 10, 2013 This really makes a joke of Thailands recent hosting of the CITES convention. I think Thailand managed to do that anyway.
