Do I Need To Leave Or Can I Get Another Extension

Featured Replies

Entered Thailand at the end of January getting 30 days entry on arrival. Should have been back to work overseas at end of February so 30 days was enough. Because of bad luck and shoulder injury I ended up having surgery done in my shoulder here in Bangok in mid February and therefore couldn't go back to work.

Was given 60 days extension based on marriage and kids, wich runs out on the 24th of April. Wil be able to obtain work again mid May so I need another 3 weeks here. Here comes my question. Do I need to leave Thailand or will I be able to get another extension???

You can not get another 60 day extension - the most you would get is 7 days as an unapproved application. But you could make a border crossing for 15 day entry and then extend again at most locations.

You can only get one 60 day extension per entry.

You could make a border run and get another extension of that 15 day entry.

Or fly out and back and get another 30 day entry.

Go back to the hospital tell them your shoulder in sore.Get some tablets and they will send a letter to immigration and give you letter to.

If it is a private hospital, contact the hospital. many have liasons with immigration and might be able to get you an extension based on medical reasons. If they cannot help you, ask the doctor for a letter stating that you are injured and should not travel. But it is up to immigration.

As said, leaving and returning by air will give you another 30 days.
