Thai Bank Acc.

Featured Replies

Just a quick reply question for someone in the know. ( I have searched for a similar question but did not find the answer I need ). When trying to open a Thai Bank Account do you need to have a Thai address or will a UK one ( or Aussie, American etc ) suffice?

Thanks.

I opened a thai back account in udon.... i went to the bank with this thai women i knew who owned a small corner shop... she did the main talking and alll i had to do was show my passport and pay a small fund for the choice of card (depending on how much you wanted the daily max withdrawel to be)..... then i just deposited 10,000 baht and its still going now....it was that easy and its still going now year later

Most banks will require you to show your work permit (If you have one) and you will need a Thai address for statements.

Kasikorn Bank are probably the easiest to open an account with.

Whitz

I have no work visa...no permanent address and dont get statements... im not saying thats wrong but i transfer money all the time to the account and it has never caused me problems...so i think if you have a thai friend you can trust(not a girlfriend) then no problem. its easy
