Mathematically we could be crowned champions next Sunday evening.

Can't help getting carried away here....... We're gonna win the league....we're gonna win the league....

Sent from my GT-I9505 using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app

Why not? The young scally at one of my locals is Liverpool mad and not only has the rat got a very cute new dollybird, he'll no doubt knock up in a few months as he always does, he'll be cheering all year...

"Dollybirds" must date back to about the last time Liverpool won the title.

Didnt realise Ricky Lambert is a big Liverpool fan.

Just seen the game and Lambert was the analyst alongside Townsend.

He was cheering Liverpool along and the cameras just shown the studio of him watching the game. On eggshells he waslaugh.png

Words I never thought I'd write but well done Liverpool.

Football wins over the money scum. After 2 decades of suffering, punctuated by the odd victory, they are now getting their rewards. As the pooh trickles down the legs of "the Useless One"(what a vile joke that man is) and Mr Pellegrini the millions of pounds blow around Stamford Bridge and The Emptyhad like tumble-weed, Brendan Rodger's side stand on the brink of a huge success, they will arrive at Carrow Road with squint eyed grins and stubbled chins prepared for a ride through history....

James Joyce or Brendan Behan, heavy one.

Don't fall off the barstool just yet.

( never mind the bar bill, they'll take it from your wallet when you are unconscious. Watch out for the Khmer ).smile.png

So Liverpool are confirmed as in the CL next season, how do you think they will do, considering they will be in Pot 4 with 3 higher seeded teams in their group ?

Also, should they feel concerned about possibly contravening UEFA's fair play rules for spending too much, when they come to be assessed in the autumn.

This from The Guardian. Full article http://www.theguardian.com/football/2014/apr/14/manchester-city-psg-ffp-uefa-set-learn-fate

"Clubs can lose up to €45m (£37m) over the last two years under Uefa's rules. City made losses of £97.9m in 2012 and £51.6m last year, but can write off sums spent on facilities, youth development and a number of other items.

Other top English clubs have little to fear, with the likes of Arsenal and Manchester United being in the black in both years. Chelsea made a £49.4m loss last year but made a £1.4million profit in 2012 so will comply. Liverpool and other clubs such as Monaco, who are not playing in Europe this season, will not have to pass the FFP rules until next autumn, with any sanctions applicable in 2015.

Liverpool last month announced losses of £49.8m up to the end of May 2013, and a further £40.5m over the previous 10 months. Uefa confirmed it would announce any decisions at the start of next month."

"Despite losing £83m over three seasons, Liverpool can expect to have no sanctions imposed at the end of the 2014/15 UEFA campaign. However, I should point out that to pass FFP, Liverpool’s owner will still need to inject hard cash to cover losses made over the three seasons. For Liverpool, this means the owner needs to put his hand in his pocket and inject around £44m by 31 December 2014. This can’t be done via a loan and if he doesn’t do this, Liverpool could well face a UEFA ban in 2015/16. However there is no reason to believe that he won’t convert the required £44m of debt into equity"

Very difficult to gauge CL competitiveness yet dellboy, no matter who is in our group.

Three points in the bag. Not the prettiest win, but who cares.

Chelsea at home next weekend is going to a lively affair for sure. Even then, I'm not certain Chelsea have it in them, what with mid-week CL and a disastrous home defeat to Sunderland and with Liverpool having an index finger on the title, I remain confident.

Come on the 'pool.

It would be very difficult to argue with this.

Title's going to Anfield I reckon.

Can't see city catching. They have some tricky games ahead. Everton away for example.

Very unlikely but if Man City were to lose to the Baggies tonight you guys would be playing Chelsea for the title at the weekend. [if my maths is correct]

Would be a fitting end to the season to do it at home and against a primary opponent!

Not quite. City would be on 71 points with 4 games to play = possible 83 points.

Assuming we beat Chelsea we would also be on 83 points but goal difference possible swung our way.

And then 2 games to get 1 point!

I'm praying.
