Liverpool F.c.

Interesting that everything I read about us in the transfer market (I know it is only speculation) seems to be about attacking minded players. I hope that our main focus is on defense. Even though we may be without Suarez, we still need a more solid backline and support.

What a carthorse. I still can't believe you spent 35 million on him.

biggrin.png

you can't. . . .the panickiest of panic buys in football history.

I put forward Fellaini, at least with Carrol you got rid of him, when LVG comes in i am sure Fellaini will be one of the first to go but who will take him?

You'd better hope he has a good world cup mate.

Are you having a laugh? He's average and at best not even a bench warmer. We will need better than that next year. If anything we should be able to get a few mil more for shifting borini in the summer.

We should make a bid for Ross Barkely.

There's no possible way Lukaku could replace Suarez, if he could Mouri would have him back in a heartbeat

I think Lallana could do well at Liverpool.

Liverpool are set to table a bid for Southampton playmaker Adam Lallana this summer, according to Sky sources.

yeah lallana looks exactly the right fit for us. smashing player. good to see us looking to get moving before the world cup as well.

I think Rodgers knows Lallana's capabilities and should table a bid sooner rather than later.

I'm sure Man U are interested too and if Pochettino goes to Spurs who knows, a couple of players might fancy following him.

If you had a choice between Barkley or Lallana?

For me, right now I would take Lallana, I think he's the finished deal and will be polish up even better at Liverpool. I think he would slot right into their style of play easier than Barkley, though he certainly is one for the future.

Buy them both, that would piss someone off! biggrin.png

Luke Shaw would be OK too

Yep. 3 fine players.

Reckon there could be a battle for Shaw mind. Chelsea need him. Not a luxury purchase, basic requirement given our circumstances.

Has anybody opened a Summer Transfer window thread yet btw. Maybe you could ups?

If I open it nobody will bother. facepalm.gif

yeah agree with that, lallana is the finished article. barkley's a hell of a talent though. but i think he's a massive blue isn't he? might not move to us anyway.

Fowler was a massive blue as was Carra. That's never stopped then moving across before. Maybe im just being byassed but I would love to have another scouser at the heart of the team.

Yes. Point taken chicog. Very difficult to obtain incisive original thought on social media.

Not just on footie, either.

So it basically comes down to gossip.

15 seconds of fame.

last five years' transfer summary of the league. pretty amazing.

BnL9a16IgAEXNd6.jpg

This is very interesting.

Newcastle top of the transfer money league with mid table survival. thumbsup.gif

And very high attendance/income at home games I would imagine. thumbsup.gif

But no major sponsors ( Wonga biggrin.png ), no Global Brand selling shirts to asian kids, and no Europa or CL.facepalm.gif

Speculate to accumulate?

Chicog can probably make a very good case for Arsenal.

Consistent CL, big gates, new stadium, big sponsorship, global brand...thumbsup.gif

I'd cap spend on transfer market IF UEFA want to level the playing field.

(I understand that some of us have question marks over UEFA motivation. I'm not sure.)

City and Chelsea have a major advantage atm cos they've already spent the wonga building squads.

So, there would need to be some leniency for the clubs like Southampton and Sunderlands maybe.

Tbh. I am finding it very difficult to argue against the Arsenal business case based on the player assets situation.

City and Chelsea possibly make a lot more money off the field than Arsenal, but I don't know.

City-Etihad relationship is big business. All sorts of off field benefits.
