Well fair play to the Mickey Mousers it's going to the last day and they are currently 6 goals behind.

Bottled spectacularly.

I thought they were ready this season.

Still, Rogers has done a very good job and I think they will be contenders next season.

Agree they are in pretty good shape for next season but will they ever have such a great opportunity to win the title? I have my doubts.

Of course though we should be careful about not speaking as if the title race is already over. Seems unlikely that City will let it slip now but lots of unlikely things have happened this season already.

If nothing unlikely does happen, that game last night will be a bit like our Everton game two seasons ago, in which we let a 4 - 2 lead slip away in the final few minutes. Games like that unwantedly become etched in your memory and never go away.

75 Minutes, 3-0 up away from home going for the title.......

3 points far more important than unrealistic clawing back of goal difference at this point......

Man City can slip up, take a chance.....

Time to sew the game up, take the points in the bag and forget the gung ho attacking stuff......

Tactically they got it wrong. sad.png

"For a few seconds Brendan Rodgers just closed his eyes. "We got carried away," he said afterwards. "We thought we could score more and we lost our defensive structure." Naivety, to put it another way".

As old Singhy use to say " Cheers to tears" !

I would have brought Agger and Toure on around 75 minutes.

Two experienced defenders.

Live by the sword, die by the sword.

If City wins out it won't have made any difference. Even so, a brutal lesson for Rodgers, and I would imagine one he won't forget. I suppose he was looking at goal difference as a decider, if not, then pretty much unexplainable.

By winning I think City would really be feeling a lot more pressure than they do right now.

Even if he had strengthened his defence, Liverpool still had enough talent out there to possibly score a couple more goals IMO.

Not if he plays like that they won't.

<deleted> me -gutted, shocked and gutted....we really were going for more goals wasn't we! - unreal that was.

Controlled the game looked as if we could get 10 goals with our eyes shut...what just happened ?

breath...

Well done Palace what a come back - they looked dead and buried.

Maybe the players got a bit carried away as I guess we all did (attack attack attack) - I was already thinking if we get 6-7 here and another 6-7 at Newcastle we will win the league on Goal Difference, WHY NOT. Such has been the optimism of what this team can do on the attack.

Silly looking at in hindsight the next day now, when the gutting feeling comes over you - we've blown any chance we had...

Well - never ever imaged we would finish 2nd this year and be disappointed we didn't win the league, what a mad mad season it has been.

There needs to be some lessons learnt (tactically at times, mistake in the transfer window and so on) and some quality re-enforcments brought in to the squad in the summer and I hope we can challenge again for the coming years. Love the brand of football we play now.

Well done Reds proud of you - even if you gave me a few heart attacks along the way.

Next Season maybe if they can keep Suarez and Sturridge which may be mighty hard if they shine in Brazil. They kept Suarez this season but could his money men resist the Spanish Dubloons we hear are going to be being shovelled his way by the ton?

The problem was keeping players and attracting talent because we had no CL football, problem solved.

Well done Palace, didn't act out the script. Locally owned and supported football club, not some rich, dodgy foreigner's must have accessory. "And Ron Noades' mother is a wh#re."
