Hi,

After our appeal my wife's settlement visa is ready for collection.

We applied for unmarried partner visa and since the application we got married. We didn't want to change the name on my wife's passport as we weren't sure if this would hinder the appeal at all.

Now the appeal is complete and successful we would like to change her name in her passport. I would like to ask does anyone know if this is straight forward? i.e. do we just show them the old passport and they will stamp the new passport?

And another question which isn't really about visas. If my wife takes my name can she still buy land and own it in Thailand? I've heard stories of people not being able to buy land etc because they have taken their foreign spouse's name. If this is the case then maybe my wife taking my name isn't such a good idea.

Thanks for you time!!
