Some people spend considerable periods of time separated. Some partners have to come to the UK to get work to meet the financial requirements and may have been apart for months! Others may have been apart for years and the question arises as to whether the marriage/relationship is subsisting. Not all questions make that much sense for each applicant.

The question is OK (unlike some of the rules).

Just answer the obvious - living together! Not hard at all.

I would put the date the form is signed and then in 1.8 put that she lives with you.

As Bob says above, it's not a 'bloody stupid question' as many (probably most) applicants are not living with their sponsors at the time of the application.

I suppose they could put an additional question before it asking if you live with your sponsor and if 'yes' ignore the next question, but if they tried to cover every possible permutation of circumstances in that way with all the questions then the form would be even longer (and confusing?) than it already is!

I agree my first comment was wrong.

Your right, all the questions on the form are relevant to individual applicants but on some questions there is no alternative answer ie "date you have last seen your partner"

Thanks for the help
