Chinese official suspended after being photographed with ladyboys in Thailand

BANGKOK: -- The South China Morning Post is reporting that a Chinese official from Guangdong province has been suspended, after photos of him partying with ladyboys in Thailand surfaced online.

Huang Kangsheng, village party secretary of Xinglong, visited Thailand two weeks ago with a tour group. The group included not only Huang, but also his family members and members of his village cadre.

Huang’s problems have been exacerbated by the fact that the trip may have been paid for with public funds. A developer technically footed the bill for Huang’s tour, but one online commenter has insisted that villagers would “shoulder the burden eventually.”

Would appear that China is not too tolerant of the LBGT culture.

Still, this is an odd story. If he performed his duties during the day,

and has a photo taken with some lady boys at night, not really sure

that is a firing offense...

I think if he went in "An official Capacity" then they might think

he is officially embarrassing them or some such tripe.

The fact someone said the developer paid for it,

but implies that the public will LATER pay for the tour as

part of the billing for a public project is a stretch of logic.

As of the moment it is not a publicly paid tour.

Fairly absurd to a rational mind. so they went out in the evening

and had a laugh at a Cabaret after dinner, so what?

It'd not like he was caught cheating on his wife with actual sex in flagrante delicto.

As a village party secretary of Xinglong it may be that they see this more in the light of his even being on such a trip at all being paid for by developers or public funds and not who he hangs with - Ooops a pun.

This is his problem. 'Huang’s problems have been exacerbated by the fact that the trip may have been paid for with public funds' The Chinese Government has just lately introduced new laws to cut back on wasting public money.

Perceived loss of face is always a sword of damocles above the head of any employee, this is true worldwide not just in Asia.

I think the growing numbers of employees vs. freelancers and business owners in the past decades together with internet have exacerbated the problem of forced political correctness in western countries.

Because the trip was paid for by public funds.

There have been a number of scandals in China of public officials using public funds at taxpayers expense for such trips and it has become a matter of comment on the Chinese equivalent of "Facebook" lately.

This is his problem.

Unlike Thailand and it's public "fact finding" trips to overseas countries to Europe.

I expect it's taking gratuities from a company he does business with in his official capacity aka conflict of interest. Try explaining that to a Thai - my g/f is having a bad case of <deleted>?

No one in Bangkok believed the story was true.

Public official disgraced for wasting public funds.

From a Thai perspective, this would never be possible.

What's the white stuff on the katoys' faces. In some cultures (Thailand also?) white skin is associated with ghosts. Oh well, to each his own.

To be honest, i really dont see a problem here. If this is what he likes who has the right to tell him hes in the wrong??

Sounds like somebody else likes them too, eh? 555
